I absolutely love MAC eyeshadows and think they are some of the best on the market. Their quality does not disappoint and they have a variety of finishes and shades to please every customer. I appreciate how pigmented they are and they blend very easily as well. For the price you pay, you are certainly getting your money's worth because they are long lasting on the lids. Each eyeshadow is approximately the size of a quarter (in diameter and width). They can be depotted from its case and placed in an eyeshadow palette and once you collect 6 empty cases, you can exchange them for a free lipstick at MAC.
I really like the neutral shades from MAC. Although they may seem boring, I feel that they are what pull a look together and can be very versatile. However, MAC also offers bright, unique colors as well and they are fun to experiment with.
I have been buying eyeshadow from MAC for about 3 years now. The wonderful thing about MAC is that there is something for everyone. They have amazing neutral shades for work, and crazy colors for going out on the town. There are so many colors and formulations that it can be hard to know where to even begin. Luck for you, there are amazing people who work there that can help. I think the price is quite reasonable for the quality as well.
When I bought my first Mac eyeshadow I was a bit skeptical about trying it because of the price. I was scared that i was not going to get a good quality product for the price of each one. However i bought my first one and really liked the texture and pigmentation of it. I really do believe that you are getting what you pay for. It definitely beats a drugstore brand and lasts all day. I love their wide selection of colors and look forward to making a collection. My favorite out the ones i have purchased is Espresso and use it often to add dimension to the crease or to give me a smokey look. It has become a staple product and will definitely be purchasing more colors in the future.
I absolutely love MAC's line of eye shadows. I have only been disappointed once or twice, and with the number of eye shadows from them that I have, that's still a good thing. Most of MAC's eyeshadows are deliciously pigmented, and so very blendable. My favorite finish is the Veluxe Pearl--so soft, and also nice duochromes or metallics or shimmers. MAC's Matte2 line is also very nice--matte shades that pack a LOT of color payoff is great in my book! The shadows are priced relatively moderately, and are priced lower than most brands that some consider mid- to high-end. I will be forever faithful to MAC for their eyeshadows! :)
MAC was one of the first brands of make up I ever used. My friend introduced me by hand cuffing me to a chair and forcing a make over on me when I was about 14. I have been converted ever since! NO ONE has the color options like MAC does. Humid Frost was my first shade...this amazing deep jungle green. It's expensive for a little disc but you can't find color like that anywhere else! I started using Urban Decay's Eye Primer Potion with these shades and they stick on amazing all day even at my waitress job! My mother rarely wears make up (just for dates and special occasions) and has had her one disc for YEARS so they last awhile for the price at least.
I've been using MAC eye shadows for as long as I can remember. About 15 years. Yes, they are overpriced, but they really are nice, last a very long time (on the face as well as in the package) and blend beautifully. Quite honestly, I've got some that are ancient, and I still use them. They haven't gotten all yucky or too hard to use. They still work very very well. And they are OLD. So that in itself is pretty impressive. But because they're so pricey, I now tend to buy only colors that I use a lot from them, like my earth tone and green shades, and then purchase highlighting shades/base colors, etc from cheaper companies. If I had all the cash in the world, I'd probably use MAC eye shadows exclusively, But I don't. So I don't.
Compared to some of their other products, they are worth the price. Affordable, no. But worth the price nonetheless.
The only real problem I have with Mac eyeshadows is the price tag. This is not very affordable for people like me, who are still in school. However, these are amazingly pigmented eyeshadows with very good staying powder. They blend well, have unique colours and are very soft. I recommend Shroom for a nice highlight colour, Aquadisiac for a fun colour and Wedge for a nice matte neutral everyday colour.
MAC shadows are definitely my favourite eyeshadows, this is because they come in lots and lots of colours, are highly pigmented and last forever. My favourite finish is the starflash, which was limited edition, but I am sure they will come back at some point. From the core line, my favourites include neutral colours because they are great for everyday and go with everything, some of my favourites include Tempting, Sable, Shroom, All that glitters and Twinks. I guess they are more expensive than drugstore shadows, but they will last you forever and you can get them for a bit cheaper if you just buy them in pan form, and if you buy them in the pot, you can back to mac them too.
while its very expensive i am an eyeshadow fanatic and I love this stuff, its high pigments really hold on and stay put while producing rich colour unlike the drugstore brands that wear off and you have to put so much on to get a rich colour. However it is quite expensive so i dont buy much of it but what i have boughten works really great!
I noticed a huge difference between this and drugstore brands. If only I was like the pros at the MAC counter that could apply it!
