MAC has better products
I tried the pod because MAC has some really great products and I wanted to extend the life of my eyeliner. I didn't like how it applied - a bit too creamy but it didn't last.
This is ok
This fluidline eyeliner did not work for me at all! I like how it is intenss black however it would crease over my eyelids and is not smudge proof! Also I find it dries really fast even if you close the pot properly.
Left with mixed feelings
Before going cruelty-free, I tried my hand at MAC's fluidline, because I fine I have more control applying my eyeliner with a brush. The first time I bought it, I loved it; it went on so smooth, and I used up the entire bottle. But the second time, I purchased the same brown shade, and the formula right away was like clay... I returned it for another one, but had the exact same problem. Not sure if they changed the formula, or if I just got unlucky twice, but I wouldn't buy again even if MAC was cruelty-free.
Not for me
This fluidline eyeliner did not work for me at all! I like how it is intenss black however it would crease over my eyelids and is not smudge proof! Also I find it dries really fast even if you close the pot properly.
I did not like the MAC Fluidline. It applied in chunks and I would have to go over the line several times to get the pigmentation I wanted. I prefer using liquid eye liner pens. It did not smudge and stayed in place for many hours. Unfortunately, I left the pot open and it dried within a few months. Huge waste of product.
The color I used is Blacktrack. I must be one a few people who really disliked this gel liner. I gave it a go a few times but in the end it just doesn't cut it for me. It goes on smooth but I needed to go over my liner a few times to get it as dark as I want it. I also feel that after 2-3 hours, it begins to fade and crumble which is a total no-no for me. In terms of finish, it is matte which is what I prefer. Price-wise, I think that it is not worth what you get (unless an almost black liner is what you like). I think the L'Oreal Infallible 24hr Lacquer Gel Liner is a much better buy ($10.96 CAD vs $20 for the Fluidline) plus you get a flat liner brush with L'Oreal too. It's the blackest black, goes on smoothly, lasts all day (I've worn it to sleep and woken up with it still looking great) and I have worn it twice now for 24hours (two very long wedding days) and it really does last that long.
I used to use this fluid liner when I was younger, it was super in style to wear very dark eye-liner and what not but I found with this product was that you needed the right brush for it or else it would come out a complete mess. It was okay for the first couple hours but coming home from a long day it would be all down my face. I am not a big fan of the size either because it is hard to use up all the liner before it dries up!
I love MAC products, and this used to be one of my favorites. As I've tried new gel liners, this has fallen down the list significantly. This isn't bad - it's creamy and smooth, but not very dark or opaque. I find that I have to use a lot of product and go over the line a few times. There are better gel liners out there, a lot of them at a better price as well.
I loved this product when I first bought it. I have boughten this product a few times now and finally stopped. I noticed after not even a month the eyeliner would dry up. I was told to mix it up and then try it and it worked right after I mixed it but then went back to being terrible. I won't be buying this again unfortunately and i love mac!
The Mac Fluid Line might be a little pricey for students and may be a little difficult to master for those who are just starting out with makeup.
This particular Eye Liner is better suited for those who are comfortable with applying eyeliner with a brush and have been using makeup for some time. The product is a bit on the pricier side so, make sure the lid is tightened after every use (cause otherwise the product will dry up and it'll just be a waste).
This is a fairly long lasting eye liner and it lasts even longer when used with an eye shadow primer. It is a very smooth eyeliner and is very comparable to the Bobbi Brown one.
