i always loved mac cosmetics but when they came out with this i was obsessed!! i use a 2 different shades and this product blends very nice light on the face doesn't feel like your wearing make up. smoothing and not cakey at all!
MAC's Soft and Gentle is a perfect highlight shade. There is a lot of powder in the pan so it lasts a long time. I sweep it on top of my cheek bones and down the centre of my nose. It is a little shimmery but it looks great when light reflects on my skin and also in photographs.
I really like my Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle. The color is very pretty -- shimmery but not glittery to the extreme of being chunky. I don't think this is worth $30 though. I remember MAC's powders being only $27 (USD), so I'm not sure if I'm wrong or if they've raised the prices. I'm not very experienced when it comes to highlighters, but I don't think this is anything special. The color is gorgeous and everybody raves about it, but I don't think I'd repurchase it for $30. If my feelings change, I'll update this review!
I've been using this every day since I got it and it's really grown on me. Grown on me so much in fact, that I can't go with out it. Originally, I wasn't a huge fan, but now I really love it and would definitely recommend and repurchase it. The color is really nice -- not too rosy, not too golden. It highlights without being overpowering and gives the most gorgeous glow.
This is a great product, I use it every day. I'm not a fan of powders, but this doesn't look like I'm wearing any product at all - blends easily, not cakey and looks natural. I use it over foundation, bb cream or bare face.
I have this in Shimpagne and Stereo Rose.
I use Stereo Rose as more of a blush and it's a beautiful coral color with a nice pink sheen. Shimpagne I use as a highlight, it's a light gold shimmer, it's got some pretty chunky glitter which I'm not a fan of but I find tapping my brush most of it falls off.
I find these pretty pricey but you do get a larger pan and it's hard to resist the beautiful swirls in mineralized products. The downside I found is that these can accentuate pores due to the sheen and they don't last as long on me then a normal powder plus. The upside is that MSFs are pretty versatile many can be used as eyeshadows too.
I've just started to "collect" these (most are LE so you have to act fast to get them) and have four in my stash:
Perfect Topping- a light golden toned, peachy champagne
Soft and Gentle- a bronzey golden shade
Lightscapade- sheer, pale champagne, almost white
Redhead- a rosey, peach champagne
One just isn't enough with these... I never used to be much for highlighting, but once I started adding it to my
"face" I was hooked on the brightening glow a well applied highlight can give. MSFs can give you a lovely, radiant glow when applied correctly. I say correctly, because some do contain glitter, so you have to be careful as to how much you apply. They are also a bit pricey, but given how little you need (of most shades) these are going to last you forever. Overall a nice item to have in your stash.
One of my favorite products from MAC! I can't say enough wonderful things about this product. I love my mineralize skin finish, it goes on smooth, blends like a dream and makes my skin look ah-mazing! I will reccomend this and do reccomend this to all my friends and everyone seems to be just as impressed with it as I am!
Okay, so I'm not a huge fan of powder as it is. But I heard some really great things about this product, so I decided to try it. The first problem is the lack of shades to match skin tones. I'm very fair, but even the "Light" is too dark for me. It works pretty well to set foundation, if your into that sorta thing (as long as it's close enough to your color of your foundation).
This is the BEST powder EVER!!!!!! The quality is amazing!!! It really blends nicely into the skin. It is for all skin types and also comes in an SPF. My skin is dry, so this is especially amazing because it does not rest on the surface. I have even gone a shade darker and used it con highlight and contour my cheeks for more definition, or use it as a bronzer. The price is $27...a little more than I would like to spend, but its REALLY worth the price for all the different uses: powder, cheek color, bronzer, contouring. This is great if you are wanting to get that fabulous Kim Kardashian contouring look!!!!!
