I love using the paint pots as a base for my eyeshadow. Makes the eyeshadow stand out n makes it last all day. Great product always have one near by.

I have the paint pot in Bare Study and it is great as a base or worn alone. I love the color of it and the consistency of the product.

I love paint points as a eyelid primer

I have several MAC Paint Pots and they really do make a difference in helping my eyeshadow stay on all day. Good old Air Canada delayed my luggage for 60 hours a couple of weeks ago and I didn't have access to my MAC Paint Pot as a primer for my eyeshadow....and for two days straight that that happened, my shadow was smudging by mid-day (not pretty!). I find these are just as good as Urban Decay's Primer which I used for a couple of years before using these.

I have the color "Groundwork" and while the price is a little steep, a little goes a long way.

I find that with paint pots, application methods vary the effectiveness of the product. For instance, I used to apply it to my eyelids (to mute my discoloration and as an eyeshadow primer) with my fingers, inevitably packing the product on. Within 2 hours, my lids were a creasey, oily mess.


However, I grabbed my trusty 217 brush out of my arsenal (a fluffy blending brush) and applied Groundwork directly to my eyelids very lightly. Not only did I achieve the same pigmentation, but it also applied less and therefore stayed on longer without creasing or becoming oily.


In a nutshell: Great if you apply lightly, just make sure you have the right tools! You get a lot of bang for your buck. Truly a superior product!

Love this product, it provides a great base to start from. This allows my other products to go on smooth and flawless. It last a long time, and it is a good price. This one is in my make up bag..

I LOVE it!! I have no idea how long I have owned this product but I use it all the time. I use so little of it that it looks barely touched (except that the outside of the jar is worn out!) On those days I feel crappy I can wear the cheapest eyeshadow & with MAC Paint Pot it literally stays on ALL day!! My color does NOT fade! I also like wearing a lot of neutral colors, browns and tans on my eyes and some days I'll just use the Paint Pots with a touch of shadow over & it's quick and easy eyes! I love that I can do my eyeshadow once and forget about it for the rest of the day! There's nothing else that doesn't have to be reapplied but with MAC Pain Pots it's a apply and go for the day. You Betcha I never leave the house without having used MAC Paint Pots!!

I bought this product over a year ago, and it is not even half way done (I haven't gone a day without using this product since the day I bought it). The product hasn't dried out, and it works as a great base for eye shadow, or just an all over lid colour to hide any veins that appear on my lid if I'm tired.
This is a higher end product, and its a bit pricey, but considering how often you'll use it, how versatile it is, and how long it lasts, this is a great investment for anyones makeup collection.
Also makes a great concealer if you have a light skin tone (I use the colour painterly).

love these things! they're great bases. i've got super oily lids, but i find with a paintpot underneath i can get away with flawless looking eyeshadow for a really extended amount of time. even my cheapy eyeshadows appear vibrant and rich. nice creamy texture, glides on without tugging or pulling and really intensifies shadows.
so worth the price.

Bought this in the color Bare Study. GORGEOUS pale champagne pink color. Amazing color payoff, good product. Price is reasonable. Doesn't dry out quickly, awesome as a base or as a lid color. I use this with Satin Taupe by MAC in the crease, gorgeous school appropriate look. LOVE these.
