This is the best eyeshadow I have ever tried and also works well as a base. If you don't take this eye shadow off when you go to bed you wake up looking exactly the same. So worth the money. Just wish they would come out with more colours!
I have been a big fan of Mac's paints for the past three years or so. I recently decided to try another eyeshadow primer that I have been reading great reviews for; however, MAC came out on top. This is definitely the best, most effective and long lasting primer/base I have tried thus far and it is a product I can't go without from day to day. I've been recommending it to all of my girlfriends and once they try it, they're hooked!
If there's anything that every woman should have for daily makeup wear, it's a Mac Paint. I don't know what I would do without this product. Recommended to me by a Mac Representative at a period when I couldn't find a primer that would cut it, this product changed the way I wear eyeshadow. Mac Paints are reasonably priced, last an exceptionally long time and create an intense look underneath any eyeshadow you use. If you're looking for a primer, look no further. If you've never used a primer, start here and be amazed at the difference a Mac Paint will make. You don't know eyeshadow until you use it with a Mac Paint.
These paints are great as bases. They're easy to work with. Easy to spread and smooth out and really holds the color up throughout the day. I find that if you find the right color to use as base, you really intensify / transform the eyeshadow's original color. I use bare canvas all the time. I think it's a great base for matte shadows as well. The price looks a little steep for a small tube, but believe me, a little goes a long way and it's well worth it!
Yes it seems pricey.. but it's MAC, so it's expected and well worth it. These little tubes last forever.. I've had mine for like 6 months, and there is still tons left.. and I use it every day as a base. Few people actually use bases, but once you do, you'll wonder how you ever went without one. They not only stop your eyeshadow from creasing and hold it there all day, they also make your eyeshadows appear more vibrant and how they are intended to look.
The first mac product I ever bought was a tube of mac eyeshadow paint in artjam. It's a nice mauve/plum colour. It's easy to apply (I just use my fingers) and the tube lasts forever (or so it seems!) It's a little pricey but definitely worth it.
MAC Paints are a great base for eyeshadows since it allows for eyeshadows to adhere onto your eyelids for very long periods of time. I always use this product when applying my eye makeup - otherwise, eyeshadow will melt and will end up settling at the bottom of my eyes - not sexy. The MAC paints hold any eyeshadow very well - so that makes drugstore cosmetics sit longer on your eyelids.
If you want a shimmery undertone to open up your eyes, use Stilife - "a soft pale peach with icy metallic shimmer". Other shades that provide a very neutral matte base are Bare Canvas and Architecture.
Although the tube is very small, it will last you a very long time. A speck of this stuff will cover an eyelid - so be careful not to squeeze too much out; otherwise it's gone and it's hard to put it back into the tube.
I love this stuff and always use it as a base on my eyelid when i'm going out. I have two staples...one is a grey and one is a light pink shade...anything goes over top of them and you won't see a crease! They last all night!
Love MAC paint! It keeps your eyeshadow from creasing & also keeps it where it's supposed to be. I bought the lightest color and put it all over my lid.
