I have really oily skin and have experimented with countless products over the span of many years. I have a pretty good routine going for me right now (my favorite moisturizer a mousse coverup which I combine to create my own "tinted moisturizer".) Oil blot sheets have become my go-to in terms of touch ups during the day.
I decided to give this powder a try after reading rave reviews to see if I can eliminate the the need for the sheets and help to get my shine under control.

I did not like the product at all. The quality was great and it went on pretty smoothly at first but I found that I had to reapply about an hour after since the shine kept coming back. Maybe my skin is just excessively oily but I would not recommend this product at all since it doesn't seem to stay and also made my skin cakey looking even with a sheer application. I returned the product and will stick to my oil-blot sheets.

Until recently, I wore nothing but drug store makeup. I never liked the feel of foundation so only wore it on special occasions to give my face a nice complexion, otherwise my face was bare. A friend of mine who studied in cosmetics, introduced me to the MAC Studio Fix by saying it gave the same appearance as wearing foundation without the heavy feel. So I tried it...WOW! I cannot believe I ever went without any sort of foundation and/or powder on a regular basis. It did exactly what she said. It covers everything, evens out the skin tone but doesn't feel or look cacky. It looks and feels natural on your skin. I'm pretty pale so I use N4 but the powder does this wonderful thing where it darkens just a smidge on your skin, giving you an even tone & some color. Don't worry though, to my experience it's nothing major where your face doesn't match your neck.

Now, I NEVER wear or buy foundation. I stick with the powder for regular days and even special occasions. A little pricey since its MAC but totally worth it.

Good foundation. Last very long!!! Perfect for my skin tone and I won't feel heavy wearing it.

My MAC Studio Fix Powder is my Life! Its an essential part of my daily makeup routine. I was nervous about trying this product on my sensitive acne prone skin because of reviews by others saying it was heavy. At the same time, finding a foundation to cover all my dark spots and uneven skin tone was difficult. This powder can do just that! Its perfect for all skin colours with their variety of shade choices and you do not need to use a lot of this product at all!

Cons: If applied too liberally, it gives a cakey look
Sets to a "Dewy" finish not Matte (Oily skin may need a primer and or setting spray)
Contains "Titanium Dioxide" may be a little harsh on sensitive skin.
The compact sponge it comes with applies too much product

Im a girl that has oily skin and this foundation works great for me. I use it every day and I don't break outs from it or anything.

When I am having a great skin day, I use this instead of foundation. It imparts a very natural finish look, it last very well, and I don't have to continually touch it, it seems to really control my oily skin. It looks natural and is light on your skin. The texture is lovely and very silky and I have also found that it is extremely buildable as blendable, and I aplly it with a kabuki brush and smooth it out with a flocked sponge. It doesn't settle in my lines or pores, and the compact is great. I keeps the product seperate from the applicator sponge. When I use it to set my foundation, it give me many more hours of wear with out having to continually touch it up. I love it!

I've used this for ten years now and it's a staple for me. I apply it with a big brush so it's not cakey. It gives a great, even coverage but nothing too heavy as it is still a powder. When applied with a skin primer underneath, it can last all day.

This product tends to get rave reviews and was recommended to be by my sister. However I am not a fan at all! I just couldn't get the hang of it. After a few weeks It turned rock hard on me and I couldn't get it onto the sponge supplied. It didn't give me the coverage I required and it made my dry face even drier. I think it is much better suited to people with oily skin like my sister. I think it is also better suited to the more experienced make up fans.

I have been using this for almost 20 years and I love it! Even if I don't buy anything else from Mac I make it a point to buy this. Great texture, great coverage and my perfect shade match. Once you buy this you'll be stuck for life!

This is great,wish they would have come up with this before.I love the idea that when I'm putting on my foundation,I'm putting on my powder also.This is the best since,sliced bread.It stays on for a long while also,that is what I mostly like about it.All day long and no need for touchup.Great!!
