Too oily for me
I’ve used several products from the Mad Hippie line and I love the fact that the products are paraben free and not tested on animals. However I didn’t enjoy using the facial oil. It’s too messy when applying and the oil feels thick on my skin. The only positive about this oil is that during winter months it offers a layer of protection against cold weather while outdoors. I wanted to love this product, but I prefer a cream based moisturizer.
It was a fail for me
I got this from a trading site #Bunz (here in Canada) so I can’t speak to the price. I love facial oils as I tend to drier skin, so was intrigued to try it. The label is cute and gives it a grassroots small biz feel, which if it is I would like to support, unfortunately I was disappointed in this product. I see it has a super high rating of almost 5 stars so clearly some people love it; but it’s not for me. I don’t like the scent - it’s not just earthy or olive oil-y which I wouldn’t mind (I use olive oil as a body moisturizer after I shower, don’t love the fragrance; but don’t hate it and can live with it for the benefits) this however, I don’t know how to describe it but I really don’t like it :( I don’t know if perhaps the oil had gone rancid and that’s why I didn’t like it? I don’t want to be unfair if that’s the reason why. However that was the first strike. My face being in the drier side usually soaks up product; but this just felt like it sat on top of my skin and takes forever to absorb, second strike lol I most definitely don’t recommend it if you have oily skin. Thirdly I don’t see any difference in using it, I know being an antioxidant oil, it may be improving my skin on a cellular level and have benefits I can’t see, but just personally felt nothing significant enough to make me put up with the first two things. I definitely wouldn’t buy it again and wouldn’t recommend it to a friend. #Skincare #Beauty
Well worth it!
This product has a very natural scent that is light. It is extremely moisturizing and effective for dry skin, it helps get me through the cold months. A little drop goes a long way. A bonus is the cute bottle.
I got this for Christmas last year from my husband as part of a 4 pack deal they promoted on their website. I have allergies and wanted to try a natural line so I had found the company online while searching out new products. The facial oil was great! It smelled delicious, absorbed nicely and was thoroughly hydrating for my dry and sensitive skin. The real drawback for me is that I can't buy the product locally and ordering online from the States proved to be fairly expensive with the shipping and exchange rates to Canada. Hoping someone in Western Canada decides to stock this product.
