It does make your hair "blonder," but it does so with the use of cheap tiny glitter, which also gets all over your body and sticks to it. Not sure if it actually tones, but there are many better types for just a little more money that do tone without the use of glitter.

It keeps my gray looking awesome and leaves my hair so soft. It also seems to tame my gray hair as well.

You know how gray hair seems to have a mind of its own? You'll just get your hair all style and BOING out pops a gray hair or two. Drives me crazy! Well this shampoo seems to stop most of that.

This is a super effective brads eliminating treatment for a low price. i have been buying this for years. The only downside is that it contains sulphites

I found this shampoo at Save-On Foods of all places. I was drawn to it due to the pigment of the purple. Its very pigmented, which as most people know, makes the shampoo more effective at getting rid of brass. Also it was under $4.00 a bottle, so a real steal!
I have been using this shampoo for around 3 months now. I have very light blonde/silver hair and this works great at keeping the brass away. The only downsides are that the bottles are pretty small, if your hair is very white, it will stain it purple in places (Just use a clarifying shampoo to fix this) and it dries your hair out a bit.
If you use this product, make sure you have a good conditioner.
All in all though, for the price, I've been really satisfied and have continued to buy it, month after month.
