I got a deluxe sample of this with my 500 point perk from Sephora. I have the shade I544, which is a shimmery, satin taupe.
I find that the pigmentation is decent with this particular shade, though it does take a bit to build it up. It is a bit gritty in texture, and kicks up some powder, considering the price for a full size pan is $25. I have a palette from NYC that I paid $6 for, and two of the colours are very similar. When applied to my lid, I wouldn't be able to tell you the difference between the NYC and the Make Up For Ever.
If anything the NYC shades are softer to the touch and kick up less powder. Maybe some other shades from the MUFE line perform better than this, but this one is so easily duped that I can't recommend it.
I was very happy with this shadow the first time I used it. I had Flamingo and Electric Purple and I loved the colours. With this shadow you can use a little for a light colour or keep adding on top for a brighter bolder colour; it also blended well with other brands It lasted longer than other shadows I have used. Unfortunately after using the shadow for a week my eyelid got sore and puffy. I quit using the shadow for a few weeks and then tried it again and the next day my eyelid was all puffy. While the shadow has many pluses I wouldn't recommend this brand if you have sensitive skin.
I absolutely love these shadows. 820 and 826 (raspberry and a wine type colour) are my go to's these days. They are buttery, the pigment is true, very easy to blend and last all day.
I also like that that you just have to buy the refill pans, no bulky packaging to throw out once it is all used up
If you're looking for high quality shadows that have pure pigments that last and blend beautifully then look no further. They come in a ton of shades and the palettes to customise are super cheap. And also have a nice soft, smooth texture for applications. Another aspect I love is how you can have them for years and they never discolour or get gunned up from your skins oil..always worth the investment to me.
Best eyeshadow ever! They're so creamy and there is like no fallout and they could probably survive the apocalypse on your eyelids.
Love the color options and love being able to make my own pallette. It is a bit pricey. But it wears well, and lasts thoughtout my day.
The three Artist Shadows I have all swatched and applied beautifully. Colour payoff was what I would expect for a $25 eyeshadow, but I expect that there might be some other finishes that may have either more fall-out or aren’t quite as pigmented. Such is the way of eyeshadows, but these Artist Shadows are definitely worth a palette or two. Especially for core colours that you will use all the time. I picked up a trio of neutrals that I will share later, but it was worth every dollar!
These were launched in celebration of MUFE's 30th Anniversary. The world famous MUFE eyeshadows were revolutionized and 210 shades of Artist Shadows were created for infinite looks and endless possibilities.
They come in five finishes, Diamond, Satin, Iridescent, Metal and Matte. The ones I have ,are in satin and metal finishes...and they are gorgeous!! You gotta see the swatches!
ME-700 Amber (Metal)
This is such a gorgeous shade. I would describe it as a golden-peachy shade, leaning towards orange than yellow, with a smooth metallic finish.
It feels very smooth and buttery as I work with it. The formula is definitely buildable and long lasting, without a primer. It lasted almost 7-8 hours and then it started to fade. I did not notice any fall out.
Its a very pretty shade and perfect for the upcoming holiday season :)
S616 - Chocolate (Satin)
The satin finish was something I was looking forward to and I am very happy with the smooth and satiny finish of this shade.
Chocolate is a rich brown shade with a neutral undertone. It is the perfect shade for the outer corners and even the crease. This is one of those staple shades that easily pair up with any colour on the lid. Perfect for contouring and has an amazingly smooth texture. No fall outs with this one too!
Quite impressive!
I think these are the best eyeshadow textures, I have seen in recent launches and MUFE has really set the bar high with this formula. Apparently, the formula of Artist Shadows is based on Pigment Atomization and Water-Blend Technology that delivers 88% concentrated pigment and utmost blendability and even texture. Neat!
Artist Shadows can be purchased from Sephora and Make Up For Ever Boutiques for $25(single), $39 (Duo) and $50(Trio)
The price may be a little high, but make-up forever has awesome pigments that are true to colour. You need very little product to get perfect results and you can build intensity knowing it will stay put all day! Huge fan of the theatrical arts (where this company started their perfected adventure)!! bring on the metallic colours!!
It's safe to say that I LOVE anything that is customizable, so when Make Up Forever announced that they were launching 210 shades in different finishes (Matte, Satin, Metal, Iridescent and Diamond) I was beyond excited!
The shadows are great because of the pigment -- the wide variety and the deeply pigmented colours are perfect for any gal who wants a custom palette to suit her needs and complexion.
