I got a deluxe sample of this with my 500 point perk from Sephora. I have the shade M401, which is a limited edition, true matte red designed by Icona Pop.

The pigmentation is quite good for this shade. The colour does go on as soon as you swipe it across your lips, but for true, even coverage, I did find I had to go around a little bit to get a good coat. The colour does look very matte, with no shine. That said, it didn't feel like it was tugging on my lips at all as I applied it, but it did feel almost powdery, which ultimately led to some drying over time.

This colour had a tendency to smudge very easily. I have other, very similar reds that stay put as soon as I apply them. This one wanted to move around immediately, and did so often. The colour also didn't wear as long or as evenly as some other lipsticks, though it was by no means bad.

The absolute worst thing I have to say about this formula, though, is that it tastes HORRIBLE. Of course, I never intentionally get lipstick in my mouth, but as this one tended to slide around, it got in my mouth easily. It tasted of the worst chemicals you could imagine. It was truly nauseating. If I'm going to wear this, I would need to find a way to prevent the taste from getting in my mouth, because it's just disgusting and intolerable.

I received a deluxe sample of this in the shade N9 with a Sephora Birthday Gift. I find everything about this lipstick to be quite average.

The shade that I have is supposed to be a "universally flattering" copper pink colour. It's not a copper pink, but more of a darker, neutral brown-red. It doesn't look bad, but it's also not the shade that it's supposed to be, and certainly not how it appears on the website. (For reference, I've uploaded the photo from Sephora's website as well as a photo of the product I have both in the tube and on my lips.)

The pigmentation is good when applied, but fades both quickly and easily throughout the day. This is supposed to be a satin lipstick with a translucent and shiny finish, but I find that it's somewhere between a satin and a matte, and certainly not translucent or overly shiny.

This lipstick also claims to be highly moisturizing, with 8-hour hydration. I find that it's quite the opposite, and that it's very dry on the lips, one of the driest formulas I've worn over the past few years.

In essence, this lipstick is simply not as advertised, in any way -- when it comes to colour, finish, or moisture. If it hadn't claimed something so different, I may not feel as strongly as I do, but it almost strikes me as a completely mislabelled product. I personally would not recommend it.

This is my favourite lipstick. I put it on at 7 am and at the end of my day 5pm it was still on. I love the way it makes my lips feel and how soft they are after. The best colors possible.

I received a sample of this for free through Sephora and I actually end up purchasing the full size just because I loved it so much. Have I not been able to try it first, I most likely would not have picked it up because the color looks intense from the tube. But when applied, it's natural-looking and would probably be flattering for all skin tones. The formula is long-lasting, creamy, and highly pigmented

This lipstick was Sephora's birthday gift for the year of 2015. I finished mine and ended up buying the full size because I liked it so much. It's a good, basic, and classic lipstick to have. The formula goes on smooth. Although it doesn't last long, it's really not a pain to reapply a few times during the day. The colours are gorgeous!

OMG I am in lovvvve! I just bought the shade Rouge Artist Natural and I am so happy with it! The shade itself is simply amazing and it goes on so smoothly. I will definitely be buying more shades.

Matt colours are very dry, but the looks amazing and beautiful colour selection.

The Makeup Forever lipstick in the shade "Pose Artiste" is a beautiful gold, orangeish lipstick that goes on smoothly but is dry so it does not crease or rub off easily, Its very shimmery and beautiful when paired with tanned skin.

I received the Makeup Forever Lipstick in Rouge Artist Natural last year courtesy of the Sephora Birthday Gift Program. I have to say it was the first Makeup Forever Lipstick that I have ever tried and I ended up loving it. It is a great shade of red that looks great on all skin tones. I have since bought this is the full size tube as well as other Makeup Forever Lipsticks to add to my makeup collection.

I got this as a Sephora VIB birthday gift and loved it. It is not to "lipsticky" which is good for me because i am not a big fan of fussy lip products. i could apply this without a mirror, yet there was plenty of pigment and a nice glossy finish. I found the shade made my teeth look whiter. Unfortunately I lost my little tube when i was visiting Boston but then two of my friends gave me theirs when it was their Bday so it worked out!
