This is extremely watery (hence the name) and calling it a foundation is quite generous. I used this a few years back when my skin was almost flawless and even then it was subpar. I don't even know what you could apply this with because it's so watery. I wouldn't recommend this for the face for two reasons. Firstly, a BB cream would do a much better job re: coverage and smoothing, and secondly, this product smells really strange. It's extremely hard to describe.
This product is very expensive, and though you get a good amount, it's sucked up right away because of the consistency.
One good thing I could imagine this being good for is if you have some slight body discolouration that you'd like to minimize but don't want to use concealer, or the area is large.
Not a foundation for coverage
I was lucky enough to be chosen to participate in Makeup Forever's #waterblendchallenge. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.
First of all, I have combo/oily skin that is prone to breakouts and I prefer a full coverage, matte foundation. This is NOT that. I definitely had to apply multiple layers (3), add concealer, and set it with a setting powder. I also tried it with both a wet and dry beauty blender, as well as a brush. I found it covers much better with the brush if applied in a pressed/ dabbing motion. The beauty blender soaks it all up because it’s so watery in consistency.
Pros: Lightweight and hydrating feel, dries down quickly, holds up throughout the day even when sweating, didn’t break me out or highlight pores, blends evenly, pump applicator.
Cons: VERY sheer (even less coverage than most BB creams IMO), makeup separates in the bottle and you really need to shake it up to blend it, strong perfume/ chalky clay-like scent, claims to be transfer proof but wasn’t totally especially after sweating or with oily skin, t-zone got shinny quickly, SLIGHTLY oxidized but to be fair I picked the wrong shade to begin with, Y colour shade was a bit orangey.
Overall opinion: I'm on the fence. This would be good if you have blemish/scar free skin that isn’t too oily and you just want a VERY light coverage foundation to add a touch of evenness. I could see this being an ok foundation for the hot summer months when you don’t feel like wearing a heavy face of makeup but don't want to go bare either. It would be like adding a subtle tint to your skin. However, for the price tag and the coverage, I can’t see myself repurchasing it.
I'm basing my review off of the product description. I have dry skin, and didn't really get a 'dewy' finish with this product. I got sheer coverage at best, a BB cream has better coverage than this. However, I could see this maybe being an option as a body foundation, but unless you're covering tattoos (which would require a full coverage foundation) I don't see why you would need a body foundation.
