the sponge is an easy to use shape
I'm generally not a fan of beauty sponges and prefer to apply foundation with brushes; however, I liked the shape of the ellipse sponge. The edges really make covering and getting to those hard to reach places a breeze. The only drawback is that these sponges aren't really very effective as multi use sponges. They are not easy to wash, so after a handful of uses, they are meant to be replaced and these sponges arent so unique to justify the cost.
Worst blender ever
I got this sponge for free when MUFE sent me their water blend foundation to try. This blender/sponge is extremely ineffective and I feel like I'm just spreading product all over my face
Pro:
- none
Cons:
- does not blend product into face (just smudges it around and remains a layer on the sponge
- you have to press the sponge with product into your face for it to take (but this takes a LONG time)
- dense / does not feel good on the face
- expensive (compared to other sponges on the market)
Ok but not worth $15
I'm right in the middle when it comes to liking this. I tried it wet and dry, and with powder and liquid, and it's ok but not that great. When wet, it absorb a lot of my Makeup Forever Water Blend foundation but not as much when dry. It is pretty dense and doesn't expand a lot when wet which I actually don't mind. I like the shape because I'm able to bend the tip to really contour to certain areas on my face (undereye, nose). I use the round sides to blend my under eye concealer and it works well. It can stick a bit to the skin when pressing though. The flat surface really allows me to press my powder in and I use it mostly with loose setting powder to bake my face. I got this free from makeup forever so I'll use it but I don't think I'd buy one on my own for $15
