I did not notice the moisturizing aspect of the soap - at least, not as much as Dove. It cleaned fine and was able to get off dirt and grime stains from my clothes. It did not wow me. Smell did not remind me of the rum that I was used to (but then again, I know so little about rum.) There was a notable scent that was almost masculine. Not bad.
