I really like this cream. There is no strong perfume, it's not tested on animals and it has an SPF 15. You don't need to apply too much of the product so a jar will last a while. It moisturizes my skin without leaving it looking greasy.
sooo i got this product for review ...i loved the smooth, thick texture of the creme..at first i thought ohhh nooo this might be thick and gooey on my face but it went on smooth a didn't feel like a mask at all...another thought was is this gonna make my face feel greasey and hunny it didn't infact it dissolved on my face leaving no trace of it at all, which i like! i loved the smell of sunscreen and was surprise it smelt like that...LOL i noticed it makes my skin smooth and tight and fresh lookin which is a plus cuz u knw i do notice if my skin looks good and well it did..the man even noticed and said my skin looked refreshed and asked what i was using...would i say i'd reccomend it to anyone who wants to keep there skin fresh and heathy looking..i love the look it gives me and will continue to use it!
A couple of weeks ago I received this as part of the Product Review Club. I was going in with high expectations and hopes since my skin is pretty sensitive and SUPER white ( SPF ). Personally, I loved the thicker consistancy of this cream. It was able to take care of any dryness I had while not inflicting an oil slick on my face later in the day. I was extremely happy that this cream had sunscreen in it
(SPF15), but for someone as fair as I am, SPF15 just doesn't cut it. Unfortunately, I've found it very hard to find a facial moisturizer with an SPF of 30 or more. Finding one at a decent price is even more difficult, and the price for this product ( $27 roughly ) was a little more than I'm used to spending.
Being a person with sensitive skin, one of the first things I did was check the ingredients list, which turned out to be not too bad at all. Fragrance and paraben free, and not full of fillers as many brands are. As I continue to use this, I still have had no problems with breakouts, irritations etc etc.
Overall I found this to be a great product...........just not the right product for me due to my skin. If they ever came out with a version containing an SPF of 30 or higher, I would definitely buy it.
I also received this cream as part of the Review Club. I try to buy local as much as possible(especially when I love the products!) and since Marcelle is a Montreal based company ( the head office is about 5 minutes away from my apartment!!), I am always happy to buy their products.
I was surprised by the texture of the cream when I first opened it: looked very creamy and high end, to me.
I like the texture but since we had a week and a half of crazy hot weather in Montreal, it made my usually dry skin break out. On normal days, it behaved well enough. I, as others, think that this would be a perfect cream for colder months. I would also prefer a spf 30 or more.
I walk a lot and am more than 15 minutes outside, per day so better coverage would be more practical.
The price is a bit high but worth it considering the quality of the product. But I might still be tempted to buy something else for that price with an spf of 60, instead...
I received this product and used it for a couple of weeks, finding it very effective. I love the tingling feeling that happens when you apply it and the fact that it has SPF 15 in it makes the product that much more enjoyable for me. I'm young(ish) and I thought that using wrinkle cream would be ineffective because of my age, but after talking with my Mom about it, she told me that she's been applying wrinkle cream since the age of 20 because it makes your skin softer with age. After hearing this advice, I will continue to use Marcelle Essentials Wrinkles Day Cream.
Thanks to the chick advisor team for sending me the product :)
I got this product as part of a product review club. I found that this cream was the perfect consistency. It is not too greasy but still moisturized my skin. I applied this makeup just after washing my face in the morning. I did leave it on for 5 minutes or so to allow my skin to absorb it before putting on my make-up. My skin stayed nice all day. I find with some other moisturizers my skin may feel "tight" by mid-day, but not with this product. I also love that it has a SPF of 15 so my skin in protected from the sun during the day. Overall, I found this to be a good product that I would recommend.
I received this product from the Review Club and although I received it late I have been using it for about a week now. Im finding that this product has its pro's & con's. I like the fact that it has SPF in it and that it does a good job of moisturizing. However, by mid afternoon my face is very oily and shiny and I'm having to blot my skin which removes most of my makeup. As a few other reviewers have noted, this product is probably better off as a night cream because of the thickness of it and the oilyness it produces, but also maybe best used in the winter when the skin needs more moisture and is much more dry.
I LOVED this cream!!!! Marcelle continues to surprise me! Thanks to the Product Review Club I am starting to see the benefits of changing over to more Marcelle products. This cream was quite thick and moisturizing - I did not need to use very much of it to get full coverage. My skin looked dewey and had a nice youthful glow to it. There was no smell to this lotion, which makes it easy to use everyday.
I only wish that there was more SPF protection. I prefer to where at least 30 SPF everyday, so the 15 SPF inluded in this cream does not seem like enough. I find the price a little hight considering that on days when I was heading outside for most of the day, I actually needed to put on another moisturizure with more SPF...kind of disappointing since I really enjoyed every other aspect of this lotion.
I've been using Olay's classic lotion with SPF 15 since I was thirteen, so my skin is so used to that formula I was curious to try something different. The Marcelle Day Cream comes in a lovely jar and on sight looks very appealing. I wonder sometimes how hygenic it is to dip your fingers repeatedly into a jar of cream, but so many are packaged that I suppose it must be ok.
My concern, however, was that a cream formula was going to be too heavy after so many years of using a lotion. Often the addition of sun protection makes a texture even greasier. The first day I used this, my skin was oilier and shiny across my t-zone by the afternoon. The second time I followed with a light dusting of mineral foundation, which helped a bit, but I still felt like I was 'wearing' my cream all day, instead of having it absorb into my skin. But after a couple more uses, my skin seemed to adjust more to the thicker formula.
Overall, if you like cream formulas, give this a shot: the texture is quite luxurious and it definitely hydrates. That and the minimal SPF should help with developing wrinkles. For me, I think I'll stick to my lotion for the rest of the summer and use this during the winter months, when a richer emollient could be helpful.
A BIG thanks to the chickadvisor product review club for letting me review this product.
The packaging of the cream is quite nice, I liked the jar the cream is in, I feel it keeps the cream nice and fresh.
What I loved at first use is that it is absolutely odourless. Great for anybody who is looking for a cream with no perfumey or strong smells.
The cream is SPF 15, great for someone like me who does not spend a lot of time outdoors during the day. It although does take some time to absorb into the skin. My skin felt a bit shiny when I first applied it. It took about 10 minutes or so to absorb well into the skin and then I was able to apply my makeup.
As far as getting rid of wrinkles/age spots is concerned I am not sure yet because I would need to apply it for a longer period to notice any difference. It does however keep my skin well hydrated during the day which I really did like.
My skin is quite sensitive and thankfully the Marcelle cream suited it well.
Overall I would give it a 7.5 out of 10.
