LOVE IT!!
I have been using this makeup for about 10 days now, and I have to say that i truly love it. The first thing that i noticed on Day-1 of use was that it doesn't have much of an odour, which I really liked (I’m so used to unscrewing the cap on a moisturizer and immediately ‘smelling’ it… not always a bad smell, but I prefer none at all). So I appreciated the very subtle fragrance to begin with. Then, upon trying it, I found that it goes on very smoothly and gives really good coverage without buildup… so it ends up really ‘working’ as a makeup, but not leaving me with that ‘I’m wearing makeup’ feeling (really good combination). I have a lot of imperfections in my skin, and this makeup does as well or better than ANY other moisturizer that I’ve tried (in at least 15 years) – I’d definitely recommend it to a friend, even though the price is slightly higher than some other moisturizers… it’s definitely worth it!
I am a test user. And below are my reviews:
Pros:
Very nice smooth, easy to apply. Covers blemishes perfectly and lasts pretty good (I am amazed actually). And I really liked how light it feels! Like it is barely there but definitely doing what it's supposed to do! SO yes. It does work.. Lines and wrinkles don't look deeper when you apply it.. The best thing is I did not have to use powder on it since it wasn't shiny. It looked even. All I have to do is use light pink blush to even out the color on my cheeks.
However when choosing color I say definitely try it on your skin first. It looks darker in bottle and charts. Playing with a tester before purchasing is a must. I say go one shade darker.. Or get two back to back shades so you can balance it when you are tanned and etc. I am getting one darker shade!
Oh and it has a pump!! Hygienic and you don't spill it around..
Cons: Again.. Color chart is off. Make sure you test it before purchasing it.
I am in my mid-thirties and have fairly healthy skin so I've never been one to use foundation and clog up my pores unnecessarily. But when I received this product through the Product Review Club, I figured I would give it a try. Let me just say that I am now sold on the product. I found that it glided on effortlessly and provided good coverage - a little definitely goes a long way. The texture was smooth and light, feeling as though I hardly put anything on my face at all. I also liked that it was fairly odourless and didn't challenge my perfume. As for anti-wrinkle, well it is hard to say just how effective it is for covering up wrinkles with just a few applications but I did like that it didn't crease around my eyes and forehead area. Definitely a product you should try.
Unfortunately there's not a lot I can say about this product, considering that the shade was about a million times too light for me. When I was notified that I would be receiving it I was a bit concerned, but when I got a bottle and the shade was called "Mocha" I had hope. I mean Mocha is a mixture of chocolate and coffee so you'd think it would definitely be brown, right? Wrong. It was more along the lines of peach.
Anyway I did use it just so I could get a feel of the texture, etc. I put it on and wore it around the house for a day. It went on smoothly and blended well. It has a nice texture and pretty good staying power. It's something I would purchase if there was a shade for me but since Mocha is the darkest shade they make I'm guessing Marcelle is not too interested in my money.
I received this product from the Product Review Club and seeing as I don't leave the house without foundation I was very excited to try it. I'm in my mid thirties so I'm just starting to see some lines around my eyes so I've been wanting to try a foundation that would address this rather than the brand I've been using since my early twenties which I've outgrown.
I've been using this foundation for over a week and overall I'm pleased with the results. I like how the product seems to glide over my fine lines instead of settle in them, it does this with a very natural light feel as if I'm not wearing any base at all. I also appreciated the lack of scent and it was very gentle for my skin. The only thing I found myself wishing for was a little shine control as I noticed I had to use my pressed powder through the day. This product washed off very easily and was easy to apply. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this in the future. Now if they'd only put the product in recyclable packaging then I'd be really happy!
I received this product through ChickAdvisor and I don't think I've ever tried Marcelle brands before but I was quite impressed with this foundation for these reasons:
1) sheer and easy to blend evening out skin tone = doesn't look like heavy caked on foundation
2) very smooth with a nice finish.
I'm not sure how much the price is but I read somewhere it was around 22$ which seemed like a lot for something so small (the size I received) but then again I noticed I wasn't using too much of the product per application. As for anti-wrinkling, I can't really tell but it did leave my skin looking smooth. I have red scarring on my face so those are generally harder to cover up but it did pretty well on mild blemishes.
I'm not sure I will continue to use this product because I've never really been a fan of foundation. There is one negative thing about this product and that is the smell. I couldn't stand the smell. I can't even really describe it. I didn't really seem to notice too many users complaining about the smell so maybe I'm just sensitive to something particular in it. But other than that, I would definitely recommend this to a foundation user needing little to moderate coverage.
I tested this product as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club, and have used it over the past two weeks while alternating with my usual foundation (MAC Studio Fix). The high quality of this "made in Canada" product is evident from the moment you dispense some of the foundation onto your fingertips or onto a sponge. It goes on evenly and smoothly with a rich and luxurious texture that, as others have noted, does not feel heavy on skin. This foundation was easy to blend and it did not feel as though I was wearing a "mask" of foundation. Slight blemishes are easily covered up using the Marcelle New Age Anti-Wrinkle Make-up Foundation.
I still love my MAC Studio Fix more because it comes in a portable compact (instead of a liquid dispenser), but would happily recommend this as a more economical alternative.
I have shared the Marcelle foundation with my mother (who is 62) to get her comments on it, and she reported that this is one of the best foundations she has tried. It made her skin glow and earned her a number of compliments on her youthful look. This is a winner!
After using this for 2 weeks, I can definitely say I'm a fan! It went on so smoothly and didn't irritate my skin at all. The texture was thicker than I'm used to but didn't feel heavy on my skin. The colour matched my skin tone perfectly and rubbed in easily. I also loved the fact that it didn't look like i was wearing foundation. Best of all, my friends asked me what I'd been using on my skin - they said my face was glowing.
I'm sold. I'll definitely continue using this foundation.
I just got my sample to try and I love this product......at first when i tried it was a little heavier then my normal makeup but after a few tries I love the way it blends into you skin and and you hardly notice you have it on. I love the idea of the pump....you don't have to worry about using too much you can get the right amount. I recommend this product 100% it makes your skin feel soft.
Thank you Chickadvisor for letting me review this product! Prior to receiving this product, the foundation that I absolutely swore by was Future Skin by Chantecaille (a rather exclusive make up line from France that is now available at Holt Renfrew).
I wanted to make sure that I did a fair and non-biased review of this product so I recruited several of my co-workers to review my foundation during the week. On two days I wore the Marcelle foundation, on two other days I wore the Chantecaille foundation. And on one day I even wore half on one side or my face and half on the other side of my face. Here are the results.......
Both were equally effective!!! They couldn't tell the difference between the Marcelle or the Chantecaille foundation. Coverage was equally good and neither product settled into the fine lines around my eyes (which both products claim). This was a pretty hard pill to swallow considering that I've been using Chantecaille's Future Skin which goes for approx $80 (for 30mL). Marcelle's foundation is $23 (for 20mL). Even when you factor the difference in volume, Marcelle is still less than half the price of Chantecaille!
Although Chantecaille boasts the use of botanicals and aromatherapy aspects in their products, based on the feedback from my esteemed peers (not to mention the significant price difference) I will have to say that I'm making the switch to Marcelle. Who would of thought that I would switch from a boutique store to a drugstore brand. But it's more affordable, readily available and best of all - it's Canadian! =)
