Disappointed because it is a Marcelle product
This was one of the most disappointing Marcelle products I have used. I normally love almost all of the Marcelle products from the skin care lines, but I found that they weren't really the best when it came down to make up. The mascara is very clumpy and when it goes on, it feels like I just rubbed tar onto my lashes instead of mascara. Too thick and goopy of a consistency. Otherwise, it is very pigmented, so it is very dark and black like all mascaras should be
It's hard to write a negative review for a product, especially since I received this to try for free from Marcelle. However, this mascara was disappointing. The mascara wand is interesting - it's straight (not curved like some mascara brushes), and made of polymer (it's supposed to be soft, but feels kind of hard and plastic when I apply this mascara). The bristles are shorter than most mascaras I've tried, and then on one side of the brush a strip of the bristles are much longer. This is supposed to help the brush cover even the shortest lashes. It feels awkward to me, and not as effective as other mascara brushes at lengthening or even just applying the mascara.
The formula isn't my favourite. It has a weird scent, and there are little clumps in the mascara that show up when I apply it. I end up trying to brush them out with my brow spoolie, which works, but kind of defeats the purpose of using this mascara. Lastly, this smudges terribly with my deep set eyes and slightly oily lids. After wearing this for a full day, this just ends up travelling all over my eye area and looking terrible.
It was great of Marcelle to send these mascaras out for free, but I would not purchase this for myself again. In my opinion the brush doesn't work very well, and the mascara itself is too smudgy for me.
I received this mascara to try and I was unimpressed to say the least. Through out the day clumps came out and stuck in my eyes. Also when I removed it at the end of the day it burned my eyes then too. I mean the liquid itself was very fine, light to apply but it just isn't worth the money for me to irritate my sensitive eyes everyday.
