    My son loved it

My son absolutely loved this. He loves all super heroes and loves to play with them all as well. I felt as if the money was well spent because it was something he enjoyed but I also felt that it was a bit expensive for it as well.

    A bit gimmicky

This Ironman and Thanos toy might get a higher rating, if it was a little cheaper or had more action to it. But the reality (stone) of it is that how much they'll like it depends on how big of a fan of the characters they are. I find the price a little high for how limited it is. Iron-man has the one pose, though his arms can be lifted up and down and his head can be turned. In the case of Thanos he can move only his arms and also turn sideways to complete his 'slashing' action. Read ahead for my opinion on the toy's abilities or scroll to 'Conclusion' for a bare bones review.

    Movement and Voice
    ------------------------------
Slashing arm action - realistically, this is probably the most fun to be had with The Mad Titan, as your child (or you) can press the tailbone (odd choice, but ok) protrusion to make Thanos swing sideways. Sadly, because of how the weapon is designed, he doesn't really look like he's slashing anybody, just twisting. Still, it's kind of fun to repeatedly mash it. When you press it he says six phrases on a loop, one about each of the infinity stones. Blessedly, he does not repeat or interrupt himself with each press, so you avoid the awful 'start of sentence' problem a lot of figures have. He will completely finish the sentence each time.

Glowing hand - His Infinity Gauntlet lights up as he speaks, though it's neither very bright or impressive.

Front button - If you press the front button, embedded in his chest, Thanos has three more lines; generic battle lines.

The deeply sad thing about Thanos' voice lines, is that Josh Brolin did such a good job that having a Thanos who doesn't sound like him...is pretty sad. It almost leaves you wishing they'd just lifted movie lines. Whether or not your child notices this depends on how precocious they are and their age.

A lot of his lines also have to do with wanting the Infinity stones, or using them. Which doesn't make a ton of sense as he has exactly two with him. The gimmick of needing to collect the other characters to get the rest of the stones, might be a smart way to get kids to buy, but it means his lines often don't fit. Speaking of the gimmick, for the price having all of the Infinity Stones would be better.

    ------------------------------
    Visuals/Design
    ------------------------------
Both Thanos and Iron Man have the quality in their faces and design you'd expect from a toy of this price, I can't complain there. There's lots of texture details and mostly the painting is on-point. However, some of the design choices don't work.

Having the Infinity Stones be massive and on the weapon is a little confusing. He has an Infinity Gauntlet that glows, but the stones aren't there. Furthermore, his weapon only has space for two stones...so if you do collect the rest, there's nowhere to put them. This makes him less satisfying as both a toy, or a display figure. It would also have been nice for the stones to glow (makes sense, no?), but because they are simple stickered plastic, that is put on via pegs, they do not.

Again, whether or not this will bother someone, depends on age, precociousness and how big a fan they are!

    Conclusion
    --------------------
Overall, these just seem a little highly priced for such a limited toy. A handful (nine to be exact) of phrases is good and executed well (voicework aside), but the toys aren't very posable. Some of the design is baffling and poorly implemented too. Are these worth it? It really depends on how big a fan your kid is and if these things will bother them.

    Pros:
+ Painting and details look good, with very few overspill or flaws on the paintjob and lots of texture.
+ DOES come with batteries. (2xAA Demo batteries located in the legs).
+ Different phrases depending on if the tailbone tab or chest is pressed.
+ Size of Thanos is accurate to Iron Man, toys are good size.
    + Steady (don't fall down).
    + Slashing action is fun.
+ Voice lines are not interrupted when pressing again and again (not annoying)!

    Cons:
    - Other figures must be bought to get all the Infinity Stones.
    - Because of this, some voice lines don't make sense if you don't have them.
    - Infinity stones don't glow and have cheap looking stickers on them.
    - Only nine voice phrases.
    - Toys aren't very posable. Ironman: Head and shoulder joints. Thanos: Twisting and shoulder joints.
    - Slashing action doesn't really look like slashing.

Recommended: Maybe. If you have a kid who's a big fan, I recommend on sale. But I don't recommend to an adult collector or a child who isn't a massive fan.
