It is not cheap, but it works really nice. It is a great way of getting rid of dry patches and keeping your hands moisturized. I use it every saturday after cleaning my house and it works like magic.
This set is amazing. My husband is a mechanic and always has grease and the like on his hands. His hand constantly crack. The Satin hands set actually softens up his hand and prevents them from cracking as much. Love this product.
Mary Kay Satin Hands is by far the best set out there to keep your hands baby soft. The three step process is extremely easy and each step softens and protects your hands, it even works through several hand washings!
I received this package to try from ChickAdvisor. As far as hand softening systems go, this one's pretty decent. I'm not sure how much it does to heal your hands and dry skin, but it definitely does a good job exfoliating and softening your hands as a whole.
It's a 3 step system.
The Extra Emollient Cream is supposed to soften up calluses and loosen dead skin cells. The Satin Smoothie Hand Scrub is meant to exfoliate the hands. Apparently the whiter the product turns, the dryer your skin is. Lastly, the hand moisturizer is meant to, well, keep your hands moisturized.
My hands felt very soft and smooth afterwards, but I have to admit, I'm not crazy over the smell. It's supposed to be a very neutral scent but to me it smells somewhat medicated... which if it is so I guess is good for you. Other than that, the product worked great on my dry skin.
It's meant to be used only once a week so will last for a while.
I got to try a PR sample of the fragrance free Satin Hands products.
First I have to tell my Hand Softener experience. I didn't read the directions when I got it and was on public transit and decided I'd try the Hand Softener. Weeeeell I learned the hard way that it is not the same thing as a cream/lotion. You are supposed to use it to rub into your skin and it adds a lot of moisture. But it's very oily and so you need to wash it off. Unfortunately I was stuck for the rest of my ride with greasy hands.
On the bottle for the Hand Softener, it does not say that it is supposed to be washed off, but since it is the first item in the set, I assume that it is. At first I thought that the Hand Softener was kind of pointless, but it feels really nice as you rub it into your hands and my hands felt wonderfully soft after using. The next step is the Hand Scrub. It's gently exfoliates and feels nice. I wouldn't say there's anything too special about it, but it does the job. The Hand Cream is very light which is all you need after using the Softener and Scrub. I tried using the Hand Cream on it's own but it's too light for my dry winter skin. But, used as a trio, your hands will feel amazing. I've been using it at night and I wake up with baby soft hands.
I realized that I was wrong. The Hand Softener is not meant to be washed off (although I still think you can). The backs of my hands were very rough a few days ago and other creams weren't working. I started to use just the Hand Softener just on the dry parts (it's too thick and sticky to use everywhere) and now my hands are perfect! I'd definitely recommend this product for spot treating really dry patches.
I have used Mary Kay's Satin Hands hand cream off and on over the years, usually alone but also after using the Satin Hands hand scrub. Together, they really do produce satiny smooth hands unlike any other hand cream/combo I've ever tried. It has a light scent and absorbs almost instantly.
I really dislike attending those home parties for any company (eg. Pampered Chef, Tupperware, etc), but if I find myself guilt-tripped into attending a Mary Kay shindig I always order this cream. It's also reasonably priced (the scrub is around double the cost). Winter-chapped hands will thank you, and so I recommend it!
