A must have if you like Amarone

When it comes to wine Masi is one of the better vintners. They clearly have put a lot of time and research into their craft and it is evident from the beautiful label design right down to the taste of their wine.

I found their Amarone by accident (OK it was actually the pretty label that sucked me in) and had to give it a try. My go to red wine is Cab Sauv but figured I'd try to expand my palate. I tried a Moscato which is definitely not for me (too sweet) and then I tried this Amarone.

It is delicious. The liquor store describes it as "dark fruit aromas and flavours with hints of licorice, toast and chocolate". I'm not going to lie I don't taste licorice, toast or chocolate, I taste wine, good wine. I've never really understood the whole "notes of sunshine and roses" wine thing but what I do know is this wine does not leave a bitterness on your tongue and has no bad after taste. It is a smooth wine that taste really good with a nice steak and rice pilaf. I imagine it would go good with a burger and fries too.

    My favorite

I have enjoyed this beautiful wine for many years. I usually get a bottle for my birthday because it is a wine that I love to drink on special occasions, as I love to savour it's lusciousness. It is wonderful with a beautiful medium rare steak, baked potato and some roasted carrots. I have also turned on some jazz and lounged with a tall glass of Masi. What wonderful times I have had with Masi Costosera Amarone.

You have got to try this bottle of wine. Its our go to bottle for special celebrations Its a little expensive but well worth it. Its a beautiful red wine. Its about 60 dollars at most wine stores but don't waist your money buying it there. Go to Costco's liquor department. its 39 dollars a bottle.
This wine has a smooth finish with the perfect blend of grapes and spices. Has great legs and perfect tannins

Dont get it confused for the cheaper Masi wines they are ok but look for the Masi Costosera Amarone 2011 I guarantee it will be your favorite
