Difficult to control after prolonged use

I had been looking for a "creme" textured contour stick at the drug store, something just to try before committing to a more premium brand.

For the price point, this was a great choice. The color suited by skin tone perfectly, and I was able to blend without any issues. The result was great.

Unfortunately, I tend to contour more than highlight and this product has them both in the same side of the stick. Now that I've worn down the tip of the contour, I can't apply it to my face properly without getting streaks of the white.

I really like this product, I just wish they would sell the contour and highlight separate, or have them on either end of the stick.

    NEVER AGAIN

I was so excited that I took it out and swatched it right away, at first it seemed to blend well, it seemed a little waxy but nothing I couldn’t handle.. So I got to work doing a full face to fully test it out, at first it was going great and than I applied it and it felt SO heavy, so waxy, it wouldn’t blend on my face at all. I have tried different foundations, primers etc and this just doesn’t want to work for me and even now swatching it on my hand it feels like a small candle it’s so waxy, and it clung to my pored and really accentuates them.

I quickly realized the ‘Easy 2 in 1’ Isn’t as easy as claimed, I’ve tried blending with brushes, my beauty blender even my fingers and it just seems to sit like mud and move and shift around and cake my foundation, I honestly don’t think I hate a makeup product as much as I hate this. The 2 in 1 seems like a great idea, I originally thought you would do one side than the other, nope.. I tried doing it like a marker and doing highlight and contour at the same time and nope didn’t work either.

It’s way to hard to control, the highlight side doesn’t have light enough shades for lighter skin tones. The two colours mix on the stick if you aren’t careful, It’s not buildable, and the weird thing is it doesn’t blend, but as you blend more it seems to just disappear like there’s no happy medium.

I really loved the 2 in 1 concept but, I just couldn’t get it to work for me, I was so disappointed I can’t see myself ever buying it again.

I definitely do not recommend this product to anyone- save your money.

    neutral

This product could be better but this product could certainly also be much worse.
    Good things:
the shades were great (i used the light stick)
the contour shade was nice without being muddy or a weird orange it was a great "shadow creating" shade
    it blended well
the creamy texture was nice without being heavy

    Bad things:
the two colors would mix on the stick if you weren't careful
it doesn't build like i would like
it blends well, but almost too well as if you blend it too much it basically disappears

if you want a very subtle contour I say give it a whirl but if you want something a bit more dramatic pass on this product and try a powder based one

    Would not recommend!

I was really disappointed in this product. I love the idea of the two in one stick but this product failed. I had to try so hard not to mix the two together when applying and after it blended it pretty much disappeared even though I was using the darkest shade! So awful

As a contour stick, i am not a huge fan of this for contouring my face. After trial and error, i have found that powders work best for contouring. I found the bronzer was difficult to blend, although the shade is very nice. What I love about this product, however, is the highlight. It is such a nice illuminating shade and provides great coverage. So I use this as a concealer. As a concealer 10/10, as a contour product 5/10.

I received the Maybelline Facestudio Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick complimentary for review (shade 010 Light). This is a jumbo stick with both the contouring and highlighting shades together. I've used it for about a week now. The packaging is cute but I'm wondering how useful it will be if I don't use both shades evenly since they are both together... The consistency is amazing! The contouring shade is perfect for my pale skin. I haven't had the best luck with cream products although I'm sure that's due to user error! I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this is to blend. The highlight shade blends in completely to my skin tone so it's a little too dark for me (pale skin problems!). I tried using the stick both under and over my foundation. I found that blending them under powder foundation works well and blending them over liquid foundation works equally well. For blending, I tried using my fingers, a beauty sponge and a brush. My favourite method was with a brush. I think that, for a drugstore product, it works really well and it's worth giving it a try!

Positives: This product blended nicely and I didn't find the contour shade too muddy looking.

    Negatives:
    - I really dislike having the contour and highlight right beside each other. Even if you are careful using it, eventually they are going to start mixing together. Even after one use I noticed some feathering between the shades. Having one on each end of the product would work better, like the Nyx Wonderstick
    - The highlight shade didn't show up very much on me (I am very pale) and I prefer something with a little bit of sheen.

When trying to shop on a beauty budget i decided to pick this up and i loved it! So easy to use and blend in with a blender, i have oily skin and it held up to this humid weather.

I purchased this Duo contour stick, I was expecting a lot more ease of use. The cream formula glides on ut is very hard to blend in and make look natural. Half the stick is a dark contour, and half is a highlighter. I did not like the colour I got the light, and the dark stick, both of them seem like the colour of mud, not bronze. I would not recommend this to anyone, and the $13.99 price is pretty crappy too.
