I received the Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm in Grape Wine as one of my stocking stuffer gifts this Christmas and was excited to try it out. The packaging is colorful and fun and is the same size as your standard lip balm would be. These are supposed to be tinted lip balms and the shade I got threw me off a little because it is a very dark purple. However, looks can be deceiving as it is very sheer and doesn't go on as pigmented as I thought it would. In this case, I thought it was a good thing because I don't want dark purple lips! Instead, it gave my lips a light berry/wine colored effect. It was a little darker than my actual natural lip color, so I thought it looked like a color I could wear everyday. The balm felt very moisturizing and it continued to hydrate long after I had used it. It also left a slight shine on my lips which I thought was nice. This is also a scented lip balm. Grape Vine smells of sweet grapes, of course! I would definitely consider purchasing the other shades in the collection. At $3.00 each, they are reasonably affordable.
I tried this in a few colours because I found them on sale - Cherry, Peach Kiss, and Fruit Punch. The Cherry was actually probably my favourite. It turned out to be lovely berry colour. Fruit Punch was ok but I found it to be a little too fushcia for me. Peach Kiss I was very disappointed in - I think it was way too frosty. But I still wear those 2 colours at least at night while I sleep just so they get used and I have found my lips are softer and I have to exfoliate them less.
They are reasonably priced and I would recommend these to someone who's looking for a moisturizing lip balm but also a lip colour that can be used day to day (but you can buy in a clear colour as well). I'm not really "wowed" by these but they're decent and I'll likely keep using.
I have always struggled with year round dry, cracked, peely lips no matter how often I applied lip balm. A friend recommended Baby Lips Lip Balm to me and swore it would solve all my problems. After trying numerous lip balms with little improvement, I skeptically tried Baby Lips. After all, it was only $3.97 at Walmart. I was completely blown away by the effectiveness of Baby Lips Lip Balm. It wasn't too thick and it absorbs into your lips quickly. After only a week of using it a few times a day, the condition of my lips improved drastically! And better yet, my lips stay soft long after applying it. For the first time in my life, I have smooth, soft, beautiful lips! It comes in a variety of colors and flavors. I've tried peppermint which has no color, and now I'm looking forward to trying the tinted ones! I would recommend this product to absolutely anyone with dry lips. It works wonders and its so affordable!
The lip balm itself smells great, and its a good size so it will last you a long time. Cons of this prdouct would have to be price ( $ 3.99 Can. at Wal Mart ) and the fact that it leaves a pilled residue on your lips as if you had cotton on them. The colour is wonderful, I got the peach flavour. The product is only $ 2.99 in America which is resonable but here, not so much. I will buy this product again only if it goes on sale.
I bought the "Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm" recently, and it works so well for the price. It was $3.00 at target, so I grabbed three of what I consider neutral colors - Pink Punch, Peppermint, and Quenched - and I have no regrets at all!
I am not usually drawn to Maybelline products, but something told me I must try this. I bought mine in 10.Peppermint and I really love it! This one is completely clear with no color but it is more moisturizing than EOS lip balm and Carmex in my opinion. This has done wonders for my lips and mine are super chapped, so if you need a good lip treatment, I strongly recommend picking up one of these!!
I have one simple word to describe this product.....FABULOUS! It's amazing, I used to (still kind of am) an avid EOS lip balm lover but as soon as I heard about this new product I was more than willing to try it out! It comes in 6 different flavours, 2 are clear and 4 are coloured. Shockingly, the 4 coloured lip balms are intensely pigmented. Within a few seconds the colour is transferred onto your lips in not the subtlest way. Personally, I liked the clear ones for everyday use but if I am ever in need of a good tinted lipbalm I will know where to go! The price is excellent too, at under 5 dollars I think it's worth every penny and more! This lip balm also has SPF 20 so those who count that as a necessaity are in luck! The actual product is a bit greasy so if your not one for greasy lip products I would pass, but I like the greasy effect as I think it adds to the effectiveness of the product. Also the packaging is AH-DORABLE! It reminds me of Andy Warhol and has a pop art vibe! Very 80's! I am unsure if this is limited edition or permanent but either way I will be picking up backups of these lip balms as I think they are my new favourite!! Go check them out!!!
I'm always a sucker for packaging and that's what caught my eye with these lip balms..My usual tinted lip balm I use are the burts bees which I love..These however are a big disappointment.I purchased the peach kiss and it was terrible it left a flavor like sickly soap on my lips and a terrible residue. The colors look really pretty in the packaging but really does not tint the lips very well.It also does not moisturize your lips at all and you have to keep applying it.The packaging is really cute that's but all it has going for it.
I was so excited to purchase Baby Lips after hearing it moisturized well and would last for hours. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case for me. I picked up the lip balm in the color Pink Punch. I didn't think that it would be as pigmented as it was and even though I wasn't a fan of the bright pink shade, it didn't stay on my lips for more than an hour. After the color was off of my lips, my lips were even dryer than before.
If you are buying Baby Lips for the color, or for costume I would recommend it. However, I would not repurchase this item to moisturize my lips.
