I have large pores around my nose. This product goes on very smoothly. Nothing is going to take the large pores away, but under my foundation I do notice a difference.
This is a favourite in the UK but its new to us here in US and Canada. It's a primer but it can also be worn on it's own. It's focus is on filling pores, not making your makeup last longer so be aware of that. I will say that my makeup, applied on top seemed to be really stuck there (if that makes sense), it doesn't slide off of get too greasy. This is a silicone primer like most. I've used it a few times and I have to say that it is true to its claim: it does do a good job of "blurring" the pores. It is compared to Benefit's POREfessional and I will say that they are similar. Benefit's is tinted, this is clear and Benefits has a thicker, creamier consistency, this is a slightly greasier thinner one. Also- huge price difference. Benefits will run you about 30, Smashbox 36, Maybelline Baby Skin is a steal at just over 10 bucks. There aren't many great drugstore primers out there so this is one to consider if you're looking for a cheaper alternative. I've read that if you have oily skin, this isn't one for you but having dry skin, as long as I used a good moisturizer with it, I was fine. I received this gratis from Maybelline.
I had such high hopes for this product. Instead it performs like every other 'primer' due to the inevitable dimethicone. This product does smooth the appearance of the skin but it is NOT for those that are acne-prone as it clogs up the pores. It isn't marketed as a primer but has all the same ingredients as Smashbox primer so is a good alternative if you're looking for a cheaper version. It's not for me though as it made me break out due to clogged pores.
