Maybelline is one of the biggest Mascara Seller in the world. So I have big expectations each time the compagny launches a new Mascara.
I think that The Colossal is the best version of Volum'Express line (especially compared with Turbo Boost).
But there is 2 problems :
1) To get this "colossal" volume, I needed to put at least 6 coats and I was still not happy with the result. I like intense volume but it wasn't the case. We are far from the "instant effect" the compagny promises in the advertising.
2) The special yellow brush doesn't comb well (it doesn't separate well the lashes). My lashes were a bit clumped.
The positive points :
1)It doesn't give only volume, it lifts the lashes with each coat and gives lenght (compared with other volume mascaras)
2) The staying power is amazing : no smudge, no stains, no flakes.
3) It's easy to remove.
Anyway, I don't recommand it. I prefer orange than yellow.... ;)

I was very impressed with this mascara - it lengthened, thickened, and curled my lashes even without a lash curler, and i have superstraight lashes.
The only cons i noticed were minor clumping and fat handle - i have small hands, and the fat plastic handle made applying mascara less comfortable compared to other slimmer wand handles.

other than that, i'm very impressed with this product! would definitely purchase again!

One of my favorite mascara. Makes my lashes look ultra hot and sexy. The best part is NO CLUMPING!

I usually keep a few Maybelline Great Lash mascaras in my professional kit, in both the washable and waterproof formulas. They are affordable enough that I can give them to my clients instead of using disposable wands, and they work great. I was happy to receive a Colossal Volum' Express through the product review club so I could compare it to my old stand by. I can see where the "Express" comes in. This product coats each lash in a snap! You can get the same results with both products, but CVE is great for the girl on the go.

this is one of my new favorite mascaras. I find that when your applying it, it's not as tedious as some mascaras can be. it's quick to apply due to the brush you use, it's very versatile and gets every lash. Another problem i ususally find with mascara is that when i'm appplying i sometimes get it all over my eyelid, but i didn't have this problem with colassal. Also, i really like how natural my lashes feel after i apply the mascara. It doesn't make my lashes feel hard and chunky, they are very soft and natural.
i would recomend this product to anyone, it's a nice casual wear mascara, but can also be used for those glam up nights :)

When I first got the package in the mail I was so excited! The thing I really love about this Mascara is the packaging... it's amazing!
I love the yellow, it really stands out to me and looks the product look unique... even my boyfriend said it looked really futuristic!
When I finally got to use the product I thought it was pretty nice. I'm one of the types of girls who doesn't need a lot of mascara to make my eyelashes look noticeably bigger but I think the mascara did a pretty good job.
Of course, it's not as good as some of Maybeline's previous mascaras such as the XXL Curl Power, which is my favorite mascara for a wild look.
However, I think this mascara is a good "daytime" look. I have used it frequently since it arrived in the mail during the day for a fresh look.

This is my own little additional score for it:
Volume: 7/10. I didn't see anything particularly special about the volume, certainly not 9X more volume like it boasts on the package.
Length: 8/10. It works pretty well with length, I was happy with that.
Wearability: 6/10. Again, nothing special. It gives me coon eyes sometimes but it lasts for awhile. It has a strong, bad smell to it. :(
No Clumps: 10/10. I think this mascara is really great because it does not clump! I have never had a problem with it so far.
Packaging: 10/10. It looks great!

Sometimes I wish there was something between "You Betcha!" and "Fugheddaboutit!"... maybe "Fugh-Betcha!"??? :) I don't dislike this mascara. But I don't think it's anything special. I would not discourage someone from purchasing Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara, but if they asked my opinion I would probably mention different brands first.
For the price, this is a good product! I don't think I experienced "Colossal Volum'" but there was more length. I found it did not go on evenly, and took some work to get the look I wanted (maybe I'm not skilled at mascara application!?). I will not mention the smell, as I think that point has already been made! :)
I did like that my lashes did not get dry and brittle, but stayed soft.
Overall, not a bad product, but doesn't stand out as a superior mascara.

I will be the first to admit I started my make-up collection from my mother's drawer, which is also why I have been a "Clinique Girl" for as long as I can remember. Until now that is! I tried this product and was a bit skeptical since I am not a fan of the iconic green/pink tube that everyone else seems to rave about. This mascara is awesome! I think the wide and super thick brush helps - it goes on super smoothly and I only did two swipes per eye and was good to go! Easy to come off at night and no flaking during the day - I think I have been converted! Amazing price, great product.

I have long dark and somewhat thick lashes, but I like them to be even longer, thicker and darker! I like a dramatic look. With that said, I have previously tried Volum Express and I liked it quite a bit as a cheaper mascara. And I really love the Colossal! It is comparable to L'Oreal Volumnious, but with no flakes or clumping whatsoever. It also is easy to put on two coats. Some mascaras get too hard to put on a second coat once the first has dried but not Colossal. The one thing that I did also notice was a smell. I was worried that perhaps that tube was defective but the second tube I bought also had a chemical-y type smell. But it's not enough to turn me off even though I tend to be extremely sensitive to smells. For the price of this mascara it should become an instant classic!

If you know me, I'm always on the look out for the best mascara. Over the years, I always fall short of getting a really good mascara. I tried from brand name to drug stores - didn't find one good mascara until this awesome maybelline one! To be honest, I never buy maybelline products, so I was very surprised as how well the packaging looked when I first opened the box. The mascara has a very edgy, bold packaging and the bristle are amazing.. With just one coat, I really liked how it immediately applied to ALL my lashes..even the smallest of the smallest. The second coat makes it more dark and more volume, so its really your preference. Its short, but very effective. For less than 10 bucks, this has got to be the best deal you can ever get for a mascara. This is definitely one that I will actually go buy it when I run out of it!
