I saw this at Rite Aid and I fell in love. I mostly contour my cheeks and around my face just to give some depth. And this blender is pretty good. The only issue I have is that the little holder they gave it isn't very sturdy... the blender begins to bend a bit.
First of all I would like to say thank you to Chickadvisor for letting me try this product for free in return for an honest review.
For the brush I found it did its job well and blended my make up beautifully. I especially found it helpful for my eye and lip area.
However, I found it awkward to hold because the handle was so small. I also found that the sponge was pretty absorbent so quite a bit of foundation gets used.
I would probably purchase this again if it is on sale.
The only issue I had with this applicator was that it was a little awkward to use, but I do love the shape and that i can get apply perfectly to every corner of my face easily.
I was lucky enough to have been picked to try out and review Maybelline New York Dream Blender. Now this was the first time I've ever used a blender sponge before, I found that it applied the foundation nice and even over my face, and I didn't have to use much product to get a nice good coverage. What I didn't like about it was that it felt like I was applying my foundation with a fuzzyless tennis ball. I found it a little too hard for my likings. I've seen others use beauty blenders that definitely look much softer. With that I didn't like it around my eyes at all way to hard for such a sensitive area. I also poked my eye with the pointy part which didn't feel all that good and made my eye water for basically the rest of the day. So other then that I liked that I didn't have to use much product to get a great coverage but I found it too hard.
Thank you Chick Advisor for this opportunity to try the blender. It is really a great product that helps me to apply correctly my fundation. It is really easy to use and the explanation gives are clear and easy to follow.
I received the Maybelline New York Dream Blender as a free sample to revue. It took some getting used to (I normally just use the wedges) but I think that the Dream Blender is going to be a very handy tool in my makeup kit. The sponge is high quality dense foam and does a nice job of spreading the foundation. Overall, I liked it.
Thanks ChickAdvisor for selecting me for this trial!
I received this product for free for the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club. I love the idea of having a sponge with a handle so that the application isn't as messy as it can be with other sponges, however I don't feel like this product helped the application of my foundation (I used it both wet and dry). Not only did it absorb a lot of the foundation (so you have to use more foundation as a result), but it also took me longer to cover all of the areas because the sponge is kind of small. This sponge will probably be good for those who want a really light application of foundation, but not ideal for those like me who want more coverage. The reason why I'm giving it 4/5 stars is because I actually love this blender for my under-eye concealer! Due to its small size and pointy end, I was able to cover hard-to-reach areas around my eyes. I don't like a heavy application of my under-eye concealer so the sponge was perfect because it does absorb some of the product. I also used the sponge to put on my under-eye brightener/setting powder. I would recommend this product for your under-eye concealer/powder and hard-to-reach areas around your nose and eyes/brows.
I tried the blender over top the Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation. I liked it after a few uses as I initially had a little bit of a struggle with the application. It does help further blend in some of the dark spots and imperfections on your face however again a little goes a long way. I found if I used to much it gummed up and I just had to wipe it off....after a few tries I managed to find the happy medium and found less is best.
Got this to try with Maybelline dream foundation. The blender is nice and has a great shape for blending around haRd to get areas like under the eye and creases. I don't think that it is necessary though, with foundation. I think it would be great for eye makeup application if it came in a smaller size.
I recently had an opportunity to try this with the new foundation. I had never used an application for foundation before so it took getting used to. The process wasn't as quick as using your fingertip but once I got the hang of it it became easier.
