I have mixed feelings about the Dream Blender. I have always used cheap, one-time use blenders from the dollar store, and never one I can wash or of this shape. The blender worked well to spread the foundation smoothly on my skin. I found the shape/thickness of the blender a bit difficult to get the foundation into smaller areas though.

My biggest pet-peeve with the blender was the handle. I actually barely used it, because when I would, I had no little control over the actually blender. I couldn't push the product in as much without feeling like the head was going to break off the handle. I would have preferred a larger blender and no handle.

I washed the blender after each used and was impressed with how much foundation was taken out, although there was a little staining.

I am unsure how long the blender can be washed and reused and still work well. But with the cost of the product, I will likely be sticking to my cheaper blenders. I would recommend this product to my friends though.

Maybelline's Dream Blender Sponge is paired with their Dream Velvet foundation. I tried this sponge with that foundation in shade 20 - Classic Ivory. I was very excited to try this since I’ve never used a whipped foundation before, and I've always used the beautyBlender to apply foundation. I started by putting the Dream Blender under the tap to get it wet, then squeezing it to remove some of the water in a towel. This sponge does not expand like other makeup sponges or seem to retain water like the others. I followed the instructions listed on Maybelline’s website, and put a little bit of foundation on the back of my hand, and dipped my Dream Blender into it to gather some product and then applied it onto my face.

I noticed that the Dream Blender doesn’t apply the foundation nicely onto my skin – it just pushes it around on your face. It didn’t blend it at all, so when the foundation was set, it looked very caked on. It looked FLAWLESS, but I noticed about 2 hours later that my foundation was actually flaking off. But the rest of skin just looked packed with makeup. I always wear moisturizer before applying any makeup, and I’ve used the same one for a while, so I know that’s not the issue.

I will never use the Dream Blender sponge again. It’s too thick of a sponge, and felt more like squishy rubber? It’s really just a very condensed sponge. The ONLY thing I liked was that the sponge was on a handle, which made it way less messy than using your fingers or another sponge to apply your makeup.

I say splurge and get yourself a Beauty Blender if you’re looking for a makeup sponge.

I love this blender, I will never use anything else. Great price too.

I LOVE this blender. Gets in every little nook at cranny on the face. I would definitely take the advice of the expert tip in that you should get the blender wet first and then dry off, if you use it dry the coverage is not that great.

Maybelline New York Dream Blender

This was my first time trying the Dream Blender and I was very excited to do so. It has been years since I had used any sort of applicator to apply my foundation. I used to us those triangle sponges but, I stopped because of the waste.

This Dream Blender comes with a hard plastics handle. I find that it is very easy to hold onto and to control. Well once I got used to using it. My hands a fairly small but, I think people with larger hands my have a difficult time.

I found the top of the blender to be flexible. I love how it comes to a point. It makes applying the foundation to hard to reach areas like the sides nose so much easier.

The Blender comes with instructions that are clear and very easy to understand. I love the diagram.

I did wet and towel dry the blender before I used it. (As suggested)

The dream Blender costs $7.99

I would recommend this for people who don't like to get their fingers dirty. But, I don't think that I'll buy a new one.

I received this product from Chickadvisor to try and I absolutely love it. I love the way it blends a cover up. It does say to wet it before use so product goes on lighter but I didn't like it as much when I did this. It is a firm sponge so you can guarantee that it goes on smooth and blends quite well. I would definitely buy this!

If I`m completely honest, I`m not a big fan of sponges to begin with. I feel like they waste quite a bit of product.

That being said, this sponge brush was not terrible. I do wish the brush was longer for women with bigger hands. I feel it absorbed way to much product and left me with a weird feeling on my face after using it. I will probably continue using it for a bit, to see if it is more technique than anything else.

I was looking forward to trying this one as it is smaller and has a handle. I really like using this product. The handle makes it easy to use and gives me a lot of control. I love the precision tip because it gets in all the hard areas like the side of my nose and under my eyes. It is very soft and blends the product (Maybelline dream velvet foundation) perfectly. The one stipulation is that it is not easy to wash. The product does not come out easily and I had to use a lot of face wash and warm water on it. I'm not sure if this is the best way to clean it but I did not see any instructions. I would definitely consider purchasing this item.

This totally helped to put the foundation on evenly and not to thickly. It is small enough to fit in my bag and it's not to small that it doesn't work.

I have never used a makeup sponge so was excited to receive for review! After using for a few days in place of my regular application process, I have to say Im more impressed than I thought! Blends well and doesnt leave creased makeup showing during day around eyes or mouth! Being in my thirties, this is HUGE! Recommend for sure!
