The brush looks super cute! And that's when the Pros of this product ends.
I read up on how to use it, but it doesn't really work wet or dry, it just eats product and well doesn't glide the product over my face. My fingers definitely did a better job.
If you need a blending sponge, just buy a pack of the sponge triangles....they will work much better, there are corners for you to do a good job around your nose an eye area.... and you can buy a whole bag super cheap.
Don't bother buying this thing. I got this for free to review from the product review club...and I really wanted to like it...but I don't.
Sorry Maybelline...on the plus side...your Maybelline New York Dream Velvet Foundation was surprising and fantastic!
This was the first time I've used a beauty blender before and I found the Maybelline New York Dream Blender really easy to use! It applied the foundation really easily and it was really comfortable to hold. I really liked how it has a handle, which allows you to keep your fingers clean during the application process! I would definitely recommend!
I was able to try this out free from the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club. I've never used a shaped blender, but have always wanted to try them out, I usually apply liquid foundations with my fingers to blend. The material of the sponge was super soft and felt really nice on my face and around my nose. Honestly it was kind of like a miniature facial massage. I used it to apply the Maybelline Dream Velvet foundation and found that spritzing the sponge once with water caused the foundation to blend more easily and had better results than it being dry. The pointy part was very good at getting around all the parts around my eyes, and nose and bringing product to every part of my face. I was able to use it to blend and stipple depending on what I wanted.
I like that using the sponge (instead of fingers) is more hygienic b/c it puts less bacteria/outbreaks on the face. And it's easy to wash the sponge too, daily if you want. This Dream Blender is also better in this category than the other colourful facial sponges would be b/c it has an applicator. This means that my fingers never ever touch the sponge itself when I'm applying the product and maneuvering it... so the sponge end stays clean and untouched by hand germs. Annnnd, the applicator is flat on the bottom so when I'm not using it I stand it up on my dressing table so the sponge part never touches the table surface to get contaminated either. It's kind of like a face-less, dress-less little doll standing among my perfumes.
I would have to recommend this as the primo face blender based solely on the 3 hygienic qualities, 2 of which other applicator-less blenders don't have. And that it's more fun and feels better than using fingertips.
I recently had an opportunity to try this with the new foundation. I had never used an application for foundation before so it took getting used to. The process wasn't as quick as using your fingertip but once I got the hang of it it became easier.
I received this product for free from ChickAdvisor to give it a try. It works well to apply the dream velvet foundation but I think it's a bit expensive for what it does.
I received the opportunity to try this product with the foundation through ChickAdvisor's product review club. I really think the products work well together and go hand in hand as a team. The shape of the blender is easy to hold and contours well to all areas of your face, allowing for easy coverage. The application was made of a good quality material and allowed the foundation to glide on smoothly. I much prefer it over my usual applicator. It's worth paying the extra money for this as it saves time and provides a better look.
When I first saw this product in Drugstores I was taken a back but thought I would give it a shot and see if it could really work for applying foundation. I gave it an open mind but quickly discovered that sadly this product isn't worth the money and just doesn't perform well.
Con's
+ Small and hard to hold to apply foundation
+ Sponge just isn't large enough to cover an area quick enough for me
+ Doesn't blend out the product very well and I went back in with my normal beauty blender/brush
+ $8 for a small tiny sponge that doesn't really work well just isn't worth it for me
Pro's
+ Might be decent for working in smaller areas where you want to concentrate more product
+ Completely unique product to the Drugstore market
I have to say, I am not a huge fan of the blender tool.
I have tried it 4 times and still not pleased with the coverage.
It uses way to much product as the sponge seems to absorb more than what gets on my face.
It is a bit difficult to use and does not allow proper coverage under and near the corners of your eye.
There was a tip on dampening it before usage but that would remove the coverup I use under my foundation due to my skin condition vitiligo.
Produit intéressant. L'idée est très bonne. Par contre, l'eponge est un peu trop grosse à mon goût. Lorsque mouillée, l'éponge procure une couvrance légère, ce que j'adore!
Great blender and applicator blends my make up really well, very soft and easy to clean.. My favorite blender brush so far.
