I received the Dream Blender through the ChickAdvisor Product review club. This is my first blender so I do not have anything to compare it to. Overall it is great and you are able to easily wash it to reuse. I found the blender too firm for my liking, I would have preferred it to be softer. Overall it is a great product and blends foundation well!
I found that the sponge is too firm and dense and that it absorbs many product. So, it is rather small to be used on all the face. Nevertheless, I managed to have an attractive result by using this sponge. Another positive point: I had a lot of ease to wash it!
I received the Dream Blender as part of a Chick Advisor product review club. I love the texture of the blender - it's like putting on makeup with a cloud! It does a nice job of blending the foundation in, and I love that it has a finer tip for blending around my nose and eyes.
I had the pleasure of testing Maybelline New York Dream Blender for free as part of ChickAdvisor's Product Review Club. This Blender was incredibly ergonomic with its wodden handle and tear-shaped blending sponge, which made application of Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation very smooth and flawless. Directions are stated quite conveniently on the box, and the actual makeup application process became very user friendly and so much simpler, now that the tear-shaped sponge can reach those smaller and dainty parts that are usually hard to reach with blenders. I do hope Maybelline comes out with larger blenders for larger coverage, as this smaller sponge was quite time consuming to use...I will be the first in line for those Blenders! Overall, a great little product with big potential! I can't wait to see what Maybelline comes up with next!
I am not a big fan of blending sponges for makeup application as I find them awkward to use and they often soak up a lot of your makeup in the process. BUT this is the first one that I can say that I really enjoyed, I loved that it has a handle, which is a huge bonus. I found that while washing the sponge out after uses, barely any makeup came out of the sponge, which tells me it doesn't soak up too much of your make up. Really enjoyed the cheek blending and precision blending options with the shape of the sponge.
I received this for reviewing purposes.. While it does work well, i prefer it as a under eye concealer blender than a foundation blender. It is handy and fits perfectly in your hand for comfortability, i find that using it as a foundation blender sucks up most product and you need to use more product for your desired coverage.
I found that I didn't actually like using this brush to apply the foundation, which seems logical considering it is called a blending brush- thus is it definitely better for blending! If you like contouring it will definitely get the job done. As for application and spreading, I preferred to use my fingers with the dream foundation.
The quality of the brush was excellent and it definitely blends foundations well on your face for a natural appearance.
I received this as part of the product review club from Chick Advisor. I am a beauty blender user, so I was excited to try this out for comparison. The major difference is that this one has a handle, which I didn't end up liking. The handle actually makes it harder to blend the foundation and gives me less control (the handle isn't glued on very well).. I actually thought about ripping the handle off to see if it would work better. The first time I used this I wetted it (in hopes that it wouldn't pick up as much foundation). I was actually surprised at how well it smoothed the foundation. This blender is much more dense than the beauty blender and the instructions say to blend the foundation in a circular motion, and it really did a good job. I had to go over and blend my foundation again with a flat top kabuki brush, just to ensure everything was seamless. If this blender was bigger, I don't think I would have had to blend my foundation a second time.. I just didn't want to chance accidentally missing some foundation. Overall, good product but doesn't do a better job than what I was already using.
I've always used my fingers for applying make-up but not since finding this little tool!
Works great for a clean smooth finish
I received this product for review from Chick Advisor. While I loved the foundation, I found that applying with the blender tended to just push the makeup around and didn't offer much coverage. In the end I used a foundation brush instead and was pleasantly surprised with the results from that.
