I wasn't sure about the blender, but after using it for a few weeks I really like it. The size is perfect - easy to get smooth coverage over my whole face, including eyelids, around my nose, etc. Gives a nice smooth finish. Keeps my hands cleaner than a traditional beauty blender.
This is definitely an odd applicator. I thought it was going to be like my much beloved beauty blender but on a stick, but this sponge is not even close to that. This blender is very dense so it doesn't make a difference if used wet or dry.
I used this with my foundation and I noticed a few things. First, it gives a really beautiful airbrushed finish to the skin and it feels quite gentle. Despite it's density it managed to soak up a lot of my foundation.
I also hate the fact that this blender is white. It never looks clean, no matter how vigorously I clean it. I feel like I'm never going to get this brush adequately clean enough.
It works but it's just not for me. The lack of cleanliness is just a deal breaker to me, I just wish it was easier to clean. I feel like I'm always using a dirty tool.
I received this product as part of ChickAdvisor's Product Review Club. I thought it was a fun little addition to the Dream Velvet foundation - I've never used a blender before, but I can see why they're so popular! It's definitely nice to not have to touch the foundation with my fingers, leaving them clean and ready to go. The blender itself is soft and smooth on the face, and easy to use as an applicator. Definitely enjoy this product!
The blender lets you seamlessly blend foundations and bb creams on your face. I found I had to use less product than I normally would if I had used my hands.
The dream blender is a simple precise, pointed sponge with an attached handle. It is extremely versatile and can be used with most facial make-ups including foundations, BB/CC creams and the like.
The handle is slightly weighted which I really like. It feels better in your hand, and in my opinion allows for greater control during application. The sponge is quite dense which is nice as it does not soak up (aka waste) too much of your product. The denser sponge allows for an even and smooth application with a soft finish - just as advertised. It is easy to use it to build up different layers for heavier coverage if needed if needed. The short style handle fits nicely in the palm of your hand. The pointed tip of the sponge is great for contouring and getting around your eyes. I did find that the sponge felt wobbly on top of the handle and I always found myself placing a finger on the back of the sponge for more a more accurate and efficient application. It is a very reasonable price and worth a try for anyone looking to try a new make-up applicator. For me personally, I will probably stick to my old tried and true simple triangle tear apart sponges.

I wasn't sure about using the Blender, but I'm glad I gave it a try. It works very well, and was easy to use. I found it helped to blend the foundation to more match my skin tone. I would recommend trying it to everyone, my main issue is the price, because of the fact I don't think it will really last that long before needing to buy a new one.
It is easy to use and works well. A bit longer to apply the product then when you put it on with your fingers and no noticeable difference in the final look between those two application methods. Have to be careful not to put on too much product for a more natural look. After a few tries you get used to it and it works pretty well. It is washable, but they don't give a guideline as to how often it should be done.
I received the Maybelline New York Dream Blender free to try through ChickAdvisor.
I'm really liking the way it blends my foundation. I wet it a little first, and it doesn't leave my makeup looking streaky like other sponges do when wet.
It really gets into my creases as well, especially around the eye area.
Thanks Chick Advisor for letting me try this free. I have to agree with 2 comments one the beauty blender was really firm and two it should come free with the foundation, cause I thought foundation to be a bit pricey so including it would make it worth it. The beauty blender does work best when damp. I would be concerned for bacteria more in sponges cause your not touching them with your hands. It does reach all hard to get places
I received this product for free from the Chick Advisor Product Review club for testing purposes. Call me crazy, but I have never used a sponge or a brush for my foundation, just my good ol' fingers! So, this was a completely new experience for me. I liked the shape of the sponge & the handles de it easy to hold and maneuver. I followed the directions on the package for how to apply foundation with it & definitely found it was too heavy with a dry sponge. Wet is better! Also the sponge was quite firm. I did really like how easy it was to use the point of the sponge to apply & blend, though.
