I was soo excited to try the Dream velvet foundation from Maybelline. However I was not overly impressed! I received it as a trial from Chick advisor with the Dream blender. I enjoyed the blending tool, quite a lot actually. Sadly, though, I did not like the dfoundation itself as much as I had hoped. Yes the formula was creamy and smooth and super light but I didn't find the coverage enough unless I pasted it on, which I don't like to do. It worked well over non problem areas but my under eye bags came through immensely and my combination skin posed problems around my mouth!

Thank you Chick Advisor for allowing me to try this product! This was another one I was excited about trying! Im a big fan of Maybelline products and is usually my go to foundation brand. Ive tried mousse foundations before and I found the Maybelline New York Dream Velvet Foundation to be very similar to that. This foundation had a nice feel and a nice texture but for some reason did not work well with my skin. It just basically smeared over and it was really hard to get it to blend on my face. I found it left streaks and marks and sank in to every fine line I had. Im not sure who they would market this foundation to but maybe we be good for a younger (teen) demographic. It does feel natural on the skin and not heavy but after a couple hours it did seem to make my skin very oily and greasy looking. I would not recommend this to anyone who has skin issues or blemishes they want to cover. I will not be purchasing this product in the future but grateful I did get to try it.

I received this product for free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club. The shade I received a a bit darker than my skin complexion. I used the Maybelline New York Dream Blender to apply this foundation and it worked pretty well. I have combination skin. The areas around my mouth the inner corner of my eyes gets very dry. I do have to use good moisturizer in those area or it would look flaky with this foundation. My t-zone does get oily after a few hours so I do need to apply powder. Overall this a decent foundation. I am not sure if I would purchase this again if I wanted a long wearing foundation. This probably works better for those with normal skin.

This is a wonderful foundation - I used the colour "caramel". The texture is very light and smooth and is easy to apply and goes on like a dream. You definitely don't feel it on your face - it's a very light layer on top of your lotion. I really like how it's not heavy and doesn't feel like it's clogging all my pores (which is my usual experience). I would definitely purchase it again because it offers great coverage and gives me a very even skin tone while also being light in texture. I would buy this product again and would definitely recommend it to a friend!

I love the coverage of this foundation, it does a really good job of covering my dark spots. The finish is an almost matte and stays that way without touch up for 6 hours. After that, I get pretty oily in my T-Zone. It touches up well though as long as you blot off the oil first. The line only has I think 12 colours so the selection isn't the best as per usual for WOC. But I am able to get a good blend with mine which is 95 Coconut.

Although, at first the shade seemed to be a bit darker on my skin, as soon as you give it a few moments it oxidates and becomes the proper shade. Its a nice foundation for a night out, but a bit too much for a full face coverage during the day, but perfect for covering small things and areas.

The shade I recieved was 90 Honey Beige. I applied it with no primer underneath with the Dream blender (which I loved) and at first I was impressed. It seemed to be the perfect shade when I took selfies and looked in the mirror. It was hydrating. In addition, I loved how it did not feel heavy at all and gave good coverage. It was lightweight and my skin felt great. However, when I decided to do the flash test, I found that I looked like a ghost. Either it was the wrong shade or something is completely off in the formula. I am willing to try it again with another shade but the ghostly appearance it gave me when I used the flash really turned me off. I washed it off immediately.

Price not to bad but size a bit small for the price. Overall I say it's pretty good. Also I probably will purchase this again in the near future and I also recommend it.

I received the product for free courtesy of Chick Advisor. I absolutely loved the foundation and found it better than the NARS skin tint. It's such a light weight foundation and it creates a flawless finish.

I loved the foundation. My skin tone is a strange colour to match foundation with, but the velvet foundation worked flawlessly to match my skin tone. It was easy to apply and stayed on the entire day! You could barely tell that it was there.
