First thought when I opened up my package and glanced at the retail price with the amount of foundation I was shocked at how much drugstore foundation prices have gone up. Personally I think I will go through this tube fairly fast and find the price a little steep for that.

I do love the soft matte texture (feels sort of like a primer) and the coverage is light, but you can definitely build it up to medium coverage. I'm not sure if this is advertised as fragrance free because I love how this foundation does not have a scent to it. My nose is quite sensitive to scents, so I can detect a slight scent to it, but it's barely noticeable.

I was expecting this to settle into fine lines on my face, luckily it did not, rather it gave me a sort of matte second skin appearance. I do want to mention that the foundation pills off or rubs off into little balls on my skin if I were to smudge my finger down my face. From old habits, I tend to rest my hand on my face a lot in class and found this happening every time. Also I have combination skin and found this to not control oils at all (though it isn't advertised to) after a couple of hours I notice more shine than when I don't wear anything at all. Before applying the foundation onto my face I put some on the back of my hand and felt it slightly sting- therefore sensitive skin gals may want to watch out. I would say if you have pretty nice skin already, don't need the coverage, and is dying to try a new foundation with a nice whipped texture- this would be it.

Overall, I wouldn't repurchase this as I have tried better foundations that perform better for a lower price.

As someone who never wears foundation, I really liked this product. It was easy to put on and not too wet and messy. It blended out really well, but the coverage wasn't that great and I had to add concealer to certain parts, so that was disappointing. But on the plus side, I forgot I was even wearing the foundation for the whole day and it didn't dry out my face or add extra/show oils. I was really pleased with this foundation and I'll probably add it to my daily makeup routine.
The blender that is recommended to pair with the foundation was pretty great and different compared to the bigger beauty blenders but it took way longer for the application process than I was used to.

I love a whipped foundation and this gives me coverage that is good enough for everyday use and I have used it everyday ... Unlike other whipped foundations this didn't cause patchiness, cling to dry spots or fade within a few hours. Thanks so much for introducing me to this it works great and will be picking up a slightly darker shade for summer

This is actually my first time that I wore foundation and I am thankful for having the opportunity to try this new Maybelline Dream Velvet foundation for free. As a beginner in makeup, I was surprised how easy it was to apply the foundation and it blended really well. I also loved the coverage that I had with this foundation. Well first off, thank you to ChickAdvisor for giving me the opportunity to review this product. Since I love makeup and will only provide the most honest feedback on new products: Lets get started!

This product is advertised as a medium coverage foundation. I was truly disappointed when I discovered how false that was.

I am more impressed with Maybelline's Fit Me Brand - Matte + Poreless. This brand though it does go on velvet looking, is much more of line a sheer tint bb cream.

It also, made my face oily and shiny within 2 hours even with a matte setting spray - I wasn't happy with this. Though it does feel like you're wearing nothing, you'll find it rubbing off on everything.

I like the feel but I am not happy with the outcome, and I would not recommend this product unless you were just looking for something similar to a bb cream.

I have attached one photo, with highlighting - (pre full blend) to show the shininess it left on my face. And one from today at work - at 2 hours of it being on.


Probably won't use this again in future, but for days I don't want full faced makeup, it will suffice.

First of all I love this product!!!
I recieved the shade COCONUT and it's the darkest shade they have but it was WAY to dark for me. I still applied it because I wanted to get an idea of how the foundation felt and how the cover and finish was.
Let's start with the applicator. It reminds me of a beauty blender. It's cute but I prefer a flat top brush. The foundation itself went on extremely smootH. My face was soft like a baby's bottom. The cover is great, finis is awesome, it lasted me all day and I love the fact that it's a whipped type of formula.
I definitely will be buying this product in my proper shade.

The texture of the product is different from most foundations, it is a mousse texture and dries very matte and velvety. It stayed matte for a few hours but since I'm prone to being oily it went dewy. It has light to medium coverage and is buildable. The price is kind of expensive for a deugstore foundation. Its still a nice product and is easy to mix with other foundations to get the perfect shade!

I've used this product for a couple of days so far. It blends well, very lightweight, good pigmentation, matte finish. It covers blemishes but it doesn't last very long! Light - medium coverage. You will need to prime and even apply setting spray to extend wear. I wouldn't recommend this product if u plan to wear it for a long period of time. I also think the price is a little to high considering that it doesn't stay on for very long.

Love the velvety texture and that it goes on matte. It doesn't feel as oily and fluid as my bb/ cc creams which is a plus. However, I have somewhat dry skin and I saw that it shows fine lines on my face that I never had with other products when I smile but it evens out my skin tone well.

Got this as a tester. I found it blended very easily and had medium coverage. It had a very matte finish so I would not use this if you have large pores.
