This foundation goes on super light! When you touch your skin, you can barely tell you are wearing anything. Great coverage. Shade I chose was nude, but I would likely go a little lighter than that as it is a bit too dark. Only thing I didn't like is that there seems to be no sunscreen component.
Other than that great product at a decent price!

I was quite surprised at the consistency of this foundation. I have never seen or felt anything quite so THICK. I honestly thought it was gonna be super duper heavy feeling on my face. The consistency once applying was so light and effortless to apply though. I was quite surprised. It leaves a smooth natural finish, with a full coverage and lovely velvety feeling. It worked very well to cover my birthmark on my nose (if that was actually important to me to do so).

I was so excited to be selected to test the new Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation! I am a huge cosmetics aficionado so any day I get the opportunity to test a new cosmetics product is a good day! First let me start by saying that I, like many women, don't have flawless skin. I have a lot of red pigmentation that is often extremely difficult to conceal regardless of how many layers I apply, not to mention that I am extremely pale (we're talking Casper the friendly ghost pale here, people...) So, on to the review! I chose #10 Porcelain Ivory hoping it would be my shade but unfortunately I chose wrong and found the colour to be a little too pink in undertone (my fault for not being able to test before choosing) however, I am going to continue on as if I chose the right shade so bear with me! First thing I noticed was how thick and almost gelatinous the product was. I was a little worries that it would end up giving me the pancake face appearance (I know you know that i'm talking about!) but to my surprise it almost seemed to melt right into y skin like a hydrating lotion. It covered most of my imperfections immediately and it felt light and airy on my skin. The end result was near flawless coverage that felt breathable and velvety . The only downsides I would say is that it is a little more money than I usually spend on foundation, but I would be willing to purchase in a different shade given the results and that after a while my skin started to feel oily so be prepared to blot if you're in for a long night. Other than that, I was extremely impressed and would highly recommend this great product!

I received this Maybelline New York Dream Velvet Foundation as a product trial offer, and was really quite pleased with it. I hadn't tried this kind previously so I was going into it blind. I loved the light feeling that it felt on my face and liked the shine control, as I can sometimes have oily skin. The texture was exactly what I like. I usually use a foundation in a compact which is thicker, so I liked that it was a bit lighter, and I liked the application blender better than the usually pad that comes with my current foundation. I think I will purchase this product again, but I need to use it a little longer to be sure. As of right now, I think I’ll be switching foundations. I also think this one will last longer than my usual because I don’t need very much. Thanks for letting me try this out! I have already recommended this to one of my close friends. I don’t think she’s had the chance to buy it yet, but she said she will definitely give it a try, as she’s not currently very happy with what she’s using.

I was selected to try the Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation as part of the Chick Advisor Review Club. I was super excited to try this foundation, as I was looking for a new one, since the currently Rimmel product I am using is leaving my skin very oily. It came with a blender sponge that I have never seen before, but was excited to try as well. The foundation went on very light and left my skin matte which is great, because I hate having shiny skin. It covered all the little imperfections really well, and my skin looked really even, which I was super happy with. I have been using it now for almost a week, and am extremely happy with the results. It definitely left my skin looking silky and velvety smooth.

Amazing coverage for such a small amount that is needed. My face is usually sensitive to new products, but this one didn't cause me to break out at all. Highly recommended. The cost is a bit much for such a small container, but totally worth it.

The shade I selected which worked very well for me was 05-Warm Porcelain. I combined it with the use of the new Maybelline New York Dream Blender (Foundation). A little went a long way. The coverage was pretty good though I still had to use concealer on some trouble spots. I didn't wet the sponge so the coverage was probably a bit more dense than if I had.

It felt great on my skin...very light, like I wasn't wearing anything. I was impressed with it and may invest in another tube once my sample is gone. Personally , I feel that the price is a bit steep but depending on how long it last maybe worth it in the long run...

I certainly would recommend this product for individuals who have combination skin as it covered the dry areas fairly well and remained matte in my oily zones without looking like I had a ton of makeup on.

Came across as very natural.

I received this to try last week and used it both nights this weekend before I went out with friends. It was easy and smooth to apply and it wore very well throughout the night - after eating, bowling and just being out for a few hours.
My skin has been a touch dry the last few weeks because of the weather so it did stick a bit to my dry patches because it is a matte finish, but in a few weeks when my skin is back to it's normal state, I will return to this makeup and likely buy it again in the future.

It's light formula, easy to apply but i need more coverage. I have a dark spot under my eyes because insufficient sleep. But I recommend for the others less tired than me.

I received this product for free to review for the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club. I was pleasantly surprised by the coverage of this foundation as it covered up my blemishes beautifully. The foundation did have a matte finish, however, I found it to be a little drying even though it is advertised to have lasting hydration (the product clung on to the dry patches on my skin). Surprisingly enough, what I really liked about this foundation is the colour. I have a medium skin tone (NC 30-35) and I usually have a really hard time finding a foundation that fits me (especially in drugstores). The colour I received is 60 Sandy Beige and it has just the right amount of yellow in it for my skin tone. I will definitely purchase this foundation again because the colour is perfect for me, but I will be mixing it with one of my other foundations so that I get the right texture (where it's not too matte and drying). I would recommend this to anyone who wants a matte finish and does not have overly dry skin.
