I received this product free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club, I have to say I do LOVE it. The coverage is fantastic. A small amount goes a very long way. The foundation sets quickly and has a whipped texture but its smooth to the touch.

I have oily skin and I thought this foundation would be good for me and I found at the end of an 8 hour day that my face does have a little bit of oil but i can deal with that. I also find that it does last longer and doesn't smudge all over my cell phone like my other foundation does.

I was lucky enough to receive the Maybelline New York Dream Velvet Foundation courtesy of Chick Advisor. Unfortunately I picked out a shade that is slightly darker for my skintone but wow this foundation is amazing! It goes on smooth and blends out like a dream without any effort! Definitely going to be using this in the summer time when I'm more tanned. Even though I applied a thin layer of the product it was medium coverage but can be built up for a fuller coverage. You do however need to set this foundation with a powder in order for it to last all day so keep that in mind.

Bought this foundation a couple days ago after watching Casey Holmes' video on youtube. I am IN LOVE! I love matte foundations but have dry areas so it doesn't always work for me. However this foundation is supposedly hydrating and works great on my skin. It looks gorgeous and doesn't cling to any dry patches. A little goes a long way with this guy, you don't need to much.

I am not really sold on this foundation. The texture is weird (literally is a mousse or "whip") - which ends up going onto my face super cold (I think it's the time of year and that my house runs cold, still weirds me out).

For me, it doesn't give me the coverage that I'm looking for, yet at first whenever I put it on it feels really thick. It's a mild coverage, that eventually feels very light (after I guess your face gets used to it) but at first feels extremely heavy.

I will use until the product is gone but I won't be re-purchasing.

My new favourite foundation. Even through the coldest part of the winter, my skin feels fabulous. Definitely provides additional moisture that most foundations don't. The coverage is on the heavier side, but doesn't look caked on. Lasts through a whole day at the office and still looks great when I get home 10 hours later. I even left it on at the gym after work and it looked good after that too. I've already ditched my other brand and picked up another tube of this when it was on sale. Love love love!

Thanks to ChickAdvisors Review Club I got to try this product for free. I liked the packaging first off. Nice to have a tube rather than a jar like container. I found the formula smoothed on my skin very nicely and evenly. The blender sponge worked awesome for application. The coverage for this foundation I would say is medium to light. I would of liked a bit more coverage. My skin did feel nice and I did enjoy how light it felt on my skin. I would recommend it providing your not looking for heavy coverage.

Maybelline New York Dream Velvet Foundation is a great product. You can give it as a gift, provided you know the shade, and feel proud. I use it daily now.
This it not something for a special occasion, not a luxe product. Still, the quality is great. The texture is non-greasy, but hydrating. People with normal or combination will likely appreciate it. The look of the skin is even and healthy, not even and unreal.
The promo claims that the foundation stays for 12 hours. I was never sure about such durability. I would say 8 to 10 hours is the maximum. However, this may vary depending on the temperature you reside in.
Overall, a good product that looks nice. Go ahead and use it for a day outside when making pictures of yourself or employ it before heading to work.

I absolutely love this foundation! I will definitely be using Maybelline New York Velvet Foundation as my foundation from here on out. I love that it's easy to apply and how it blends so well. Never any streaks with the wonderful brush. I love and trust the Maybelline brand and I was happy to be able to try this product for free from Chickadvisor.

But for dates or going out, it is flawless. I would definitely recommend this product.

For a mediocre product, this stuff is quite expensive. Maybelline has much better foundations in the line that aren't priced this exorbitantly.

This foundation has medium coverage. I didn't need a lot to get the coverage I needed on my face. I'm an NW45 in MAC and the shade Coconut 95 is just a little too light and a little too orange for my skin. It looked like it was going to be a good match when I squeezed a drop out, bu once I started spreading it on my face it turned out much lighter. It's still the closest match I've found from Maybelline, but it's still not close enough to my skin tone.

This foundation has a thick consistency and whipped texture. It feels very hydrating and cooling on the skin.

I have combination oily skin and I thought this foundation would be good for me, but it's not. It looks lovely immediately after I apply it - it gives my skin this beautiful satin matte,soft focus finish - but after an hour it greases up like crazy. Normally my cheeks aren't oily but wearing this foundation my entire face was swimming in oil.

With a mattifying primer like Rimmel Stay Matte, this foundation wears better but it still gets oily so quickly. And this foundation never sets, even if you powder it. If you touch your face, a lot of foundation will come off.

I can see this working well for people with dry skin or people who aren't going to wear this foundation for an extended period of time. If you've got combination to oily skin and are planning on trying to wear this foundation all day, I don't think it'll be worth your time and money.
