I received this product free from Chickadvisor's Review Club. I was really impressed with the coverage that this foundation provided, it evened out my skin tone. I love how there were many shades to choose from which is not the case with other foundations. It lasted all day on my skin so I would recommend this!
LOVE THIS!! I will definitely be using Maybelline New York Velvet Foundation as my going to foundation from here on it. It is easy to apply and blends well into the skin. Provides a smooth base for my daily makeup application. I trust the brand Maybelline, but haven't used a foundation product from them and am very pleased I was able to try one free from Chickadvisor.
I have been using this product for a few weeks now and it's very good full coverage foundation. I do find you really need to blended in to make it looks natural. I got it free with the review club and it came with a Beauty Blender. I recommend using the blender to get the most natural-looking coverage great job at covering your pores and imperfections. A small amount is all that you need. I have oily skin and did need to still blot after several hours but still love the full coverage. #maybellinecan #gotitfree #maybellinedreamvelvet
Matte foundations are beautiful, but I have problems with them clinging to dry patches and problem areas. This was my first time trying a hydrating matte foundation, so I hoped that the hydrating aspect would eliminate this clinging problem. I was disappointed when it did accentuate those problem areas, but even more so that it didn't come off as a matte finish foundation for me. I find it somewhat dewy, which is odd because matte is in the name of this product. Besides the problems I mentioned above, I do like this foundation, I just don't love it. It's an average foundation in my opinion. I will probably stick with a foundation that I know works for me, one with a more liquid formula which is easier to blend.

I received this product to try as part of Chickadvisor's Review Club. I was really impressed with the coverage that this foundation provided, it covered my redness and evened out my skin tone. I had the opportunity to try the Dream Velvet Foundation. It glided on smoothly with the help of the blender applicator, but it felt like I was wearing something on my face all day. I prefer my foundations to blend into my skin so I can forget that I'm wearing it. I felt like I was wearing a mask all day. I will not be purchasing.
This has a pretty standard price as far as drugstore foundations go. I paid about 10$ for it. I like that it comes in a squeeze tube instead of a jar like the Dream Matte Mousse for sanitary reasons. The color selection isn't amazing if you have darker skin. I use shade 92 Caramel, and there's only one shade deeper. The consistency definitely is thicker than your average foundation, but this isn't a liquid formula. It has a thick, whipped consistency. It takes me 2 layers to get the desired coverage, and I don't have a lot to cover. Just a spot here and there and some redness around my nose. It has a nice satin finish, but it doesn't set down completely, so you will need to powder it. Lasting time on my skin, which is combination/oily, is about 6-7 hours before it starts to break down around my nose from the oils.
I really enjoy using this product. It has a mousse like consistency that feels light on my skin. As advertised, it has a soft, velvet like texture with a matte finish. It provided enough moisture as to ensure that my skin did not dry out, but it definitely does not contain enough moisture to replace a daily facial moisturizer. It has a nice light scent that is not to chemically or fake smelling. The product was a great match for my skin and blended very well. I had no problems with lines or caking in creases. A small dab was all I needed to cover my entire face. I was very surprised with how matte the finish was for it being considered a liquid foundation. Probably one of the best finishes I have experienced yet in a liquid foundation. It provides light to medium coverage of the skin so it is perfect for everyday use and evening out skin tones. This definitely would be a great replacement for my current liquid foundation. My biggest concern is that it is quite a small tube for the price. I feel that with daily use the tube wouldn't last me more than a month and the price is on the higher end for a drugstore foundation. Overall, I do really like this product and will more than likely continue to use it and purchase it (hopefully on sale!) in the future. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new light-medium coverage foundation.

I think the stuff works really good considering it only cost me $12 when I usually spend $40. I mean, I probably will still buy my Clinique foundation but this is a nice lightweight alternative. Makes my skin look way more even!!
The Classic Ivory I tried wasn't quite right for my skin tone, which is strange because most other brands I'm Classic Ivory. I found it was too pink, I'm going to give it another try with a different shade, but I'm skeptical at this point. I did like the Matte look to it, how my skin didn't look dried out, and it was easy to apply, which is why I'm still going to try again with a different shade. I'm hoping that the next shade will be a better match, and not as pink.
