I received this Dream Velvet Foundation and Dream Blender from Maybelline New York through the ChickAdvisor Review program.

According to it's packaging, it's refreshing gel-whipped foundation ideal for normal to combination skin that purports to do the following:
- leave complexion perfected and smooth
- with medium coverage
- a velvet, soft-matte finish
- while skin stays hydrated up to 12 hours

How to use:

Per the instructions --which I normally discard but read for the purpose of this review-- you should dab a small amount of foundation onto the dream blender. Alternately, place the foundation on the back of the hand and then apply to the blender for added precision.

Maybelline Pro tip: Before use, wet and towel dry the blender for lighter coverage.

Results: I noticed right away that my face felt immediately softer. The foundation went on smooth, most likely due to its gel-like consistency.

The Dream Blender was a nice accessory tool. It was excellent for applying the Dream Velvet Foundation precisely near the the eye; however, I found it absorbed a lot of the product instead of blending it into my skin. This was likely due to the fact it was brand new (I imagine the sponge would work better with time as once it was more saturated).

The sample I received was a touch too dark for my complexion, however, because it was so blendable, it still worked for me as it allowed my freckles to come through and still appear natural.

Maybelline calls this coverage medium and it is exactly that. It provides enough coverage to even out your skin tone but doesn't make it appear barbie-doll fake.

Like any woman, I scrutinize my face on a regular basis. So I tested the short and long-term results of this product. I noticed that the foundation started to break up a bit around my drier areas (nose, under eye area) after about 5 hours when I took the second close up photo.

But overall, this is a nice everyday foundation that has great value and best of all, no scent! I would buy this again.

I received this product for review from ChickAdvisor. I am very curious to see how other ladies liked this foundation. My thoughts are mixed. I love how it feels going on, using the blender; it smells great, and the colour actually matched my skin tone quite nicely - I always find this to be a difficult part of choosing the right foundation. It does have a matte finish, as the description said it does. My only real complaint is that I wish it had a fuller coverage. It made my face look better for sure, but faded/wiped off quite a bit through the day, and imperfections were diminished but still visible. Having said that, I think this is probably the best foundation I have used yet, and I would purchase again. It did not leave my skin oily, as so many foundations tend to do, and I really liked that. I would recommend at least to try.

Received this free from ChickAdvisor. The texture and overall coverage of this product was fantastic. My color match was very good as well I find that yes it did deliver a good foundation for me I was not too fond of the packaging or the consistency as I felt it was a bit thick. All in all it turned out to be quite average. I am torn as to whether I would buy it or not. Most likely I would if my regular foundation was out of stock.

I'm not much of a makeup everyday user, but when I do its this product Forsure, it goes on smoothly and very easy, wouldn't change this product. No others can beat it

i was really excited when i heard i was going to try the #MaybellineDreamVelvet foundation for free from chick advisor . This product does a great all over coverage and lasts throughout the whole day . I really like that they included the Dream Blender , it makes applying so much easier and i get way more coverage for less product. I definitely recommend this product .

Oh I love this product! Not to have the foundation on your hands is a great joy. My skin after application, was soft, non-sticky, uniform color and natural look !

So far I'm loving this product!

It is very concentrated so I'm assuming that the smaller bottle will last just as long as my normal foundation would.

It goes on super smooth and blends easily. I will probably purchase it again!

Long story short, I like it! It has buildable coverage, with even, smooth results!

I used this product with the Dream Blender, also by Maybelline. I tried it with the blender both being dry and damp, and definitely prefer a damp applicator, as it provides a more transparent, but still thorough coverage. The finish was matte, it didn't leave my skin feeling dry and snake-like and it had a soft, natural feel all day.

My usual foundation is the Maybelline Fit Me! line, and I would say I actually like the finish of this makeup better. It does take longer for me to put it on, though. I use the technique of putting it on the back of my hand and dabbing it up with the applicator from there, and I find that while it's precise, it does take longer to apply.

I want to see how long one tube lasts, as it is smaller, but more concentrated, than my normal foundation.

I recieved this product to test and review as part of Chick Advisor's product review club. I was very surprised by this foundation - upon first glance, it looks very thick and heavy, but when applied to the skin it is incredibly light and airy. I love the matte and silky finish this foundation has, but I do wish it had more coverage. I would recommend this for people who only require light coverage.

I got to try this product from chick advisors product review club. This foundation blended in with my skin better then any other foundation ever has, you could not even tell i was wearing any. It went on so smooth and it did not feel like it weighed down my face it is so light and you do not need as much as other foundations. i fell in love with this. thanks chick advisor
