Great colour and texture but a bit too matte for dry Canadian winters (skin is combination) and sometimes the foundation would add to the dry look.
Good coverage and lasting power for a foundation this price point. Would buy again but for summer months when matte is needed more.

Love the texture and coverage but may not be the ideal foundation for a dry cold winter. With the weather turning super cold, my skin is more dry than normal (combination skin) and I found that this foundation sometimes magnified the dry skin look. It may be the perfect matte texture and coverage for summer / spring and fall in Canada. Great colour though... perfect match for my skin tone and it felt great on.

I received a Maybelline New York Dream Velvet Foundation in Shade 40 – Nude to try and review for free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club.

I am generally fairly picky about my foundation and I found that the Maybelline Dream Foundation met my standards in both look and feel. It felt light on my skin and provided good coverage while matching my skin tone. I liked that it wasn’t too heavy and I can wear it all day without dealing with any extra shine or having it wear off quickly.

Normally I would pair my foundation with a powder finish but I did not feel that I had to with this product which was nice for days when I wanted to wear less makeup. I would purchase this product again and recommend it to friends

I received this product from ChickAdvisor to review and I was happy with the product. I loved the coverage and how smooth the foundation was. It went on very easy with the Maybelline New York Dream Blender.I loved the matte finish and I had no problem with my face being shiny. My face never dried out and I had no problems with breaking out after wearing it. I would purchase this again.

This foundation is fantastic! I've tried many different foundations both high end and drug store and I have to say this one works excellent for the price. The product is very thick but goes on smooth and even and doesn't feel caked on. It hides imperfections and red marks and makes your skin feel soft and smooth. You don't need very much product to cover your entire face as it blends very well and is very pigmented.
I tried the product using the Dream Blender which I received free with the foundation from Chick Advisor and Maybelline and didn't find it went on very well with this product. When I applied the foundation with my hands or another brush it was great. A very easy and quick application. I would use this product in the future and would definitely recommend it to others.

I was pleasantly surprised with this foundation!! The coverage was great for my skin. I applied it after a serum as I regularly do and it easily covered my blemishes and made my skin tone appear more even. It hid the appearance of pores and gave a nice matte finish that i look for in a good foundation. I applied the foundation with both the blender provided and a foundation brush. I preferred the application with the brush, but I will continue experimenting with the blender. I received the product in the ivory shade, which was great, but not as light as my regular foundation in ivory. The colour still easily blended in with my skin tone. I will definitely purchase this foundation in the future as it is at a great price point for the quality. I was pleased to have the opportunity to try this product for chickadvisor and I will recommend it to my friends!

I was skeptical at first as I have tried many foundations and haven't really found one I loved. I also wasn't sure that the color of ivory would match my skin. Let me say I was pleasantly surprised on all fronts. I was lucky enough to be sent an applicator and wow it works fantastically. It means that I can get into all those creases and helps me apply it evenly and not too heavy. The foundation was smooth and covered well without looking to 'made-up'. I was happy to see that it didn't accentuate my forehead lines and left me looking natural but covering those blemishes and redness my skin has. It did not irritate my skin and had awesome staying power as it was still on at the end of a busy work day. I will definitely be purchasing this in the future!

This product was received for free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club. This is a thick gel-whipped foundation that has a velvety mousse formula with a soft-matte finish. It lays really nicely on the skin, feels very lightweight and comfortable without feeling heavy or cakey. It covers redness very well and skin tone is more even while looking natural. Although it says it is ideal for normal to combination skin, it works wonderful for my combination/dry skin. I was worried it would adhere to drier, flakier areas around my nose but it didn’t cling or emphasize any dry patches or flakes at all. However, I do recommend exfoliating because I can see this possible emphasizing dry patches if skin is not properly exfoliated. I wouldn’t say that this foundation is particularly hydrating but it definitely works for combination/dry skin. I would suggest if you are oily in the T-zone to use a mattifying primer. Overall, this is a really good drugstore foundation!

I received this foundation to try out and I was pleasantly surprised by it! I am not usually a foundation wearer because sometimes its can look dry and cakey, but this foundation was so velvety smooth when being applied to the skin, it has a nice matte finish on the skin. I would definitely buy this product again when I run out!

This foundation provides medium coverage. I used a primer underneath and translucent powder over top and by the end of the day, my face was not matte. The product has an average amount of shade selection and I liked that it came in a squeeze container. The product doesn't feel too heavy and it does feel like velvet due to the presence of silicone. I just wish there was less silicone since it prevents it from being matte for a long time.
