I was super excited to receive this product in the mail. I'm always interested in trying new foundations as many are problematic for my skin. The first issue I tend to have with foundation is that even the lightest shade is too dark for my skin. Warm porcelain is currently a little too dark for me, but I think it will match better in the summer time when I have a bit of a tan. The second issue I have is that foundations tend to clog my pores (even products that claim to be non comedogenic). Before I used this product, my skin was mostly clear -- the only problem being hyperpigmentation. Unfortunately after two days of use, I've noticed many clogged pores all over my face. I'm going to take a few days of rest before testing it again to see if it is truly the product.

The consistency of the product is very nice. I'm fond of mousse-like foundations so this was great. What I didn't enjoy was how fast this product dries! You can't dab it all over your face and then work it in -- you have to use it one spot at a time..which I don't mind doing. You definitely feel the hydrating claim with this product. Especially in the winter, where my skin can sometimes end up flaky when outside for long periods of time. Those flakes never happen with this product! This product makes your skin feel very smooth and definitely velvety. I did notice that there is a matte finish, which this product claims. I combined this with a matte primer and it helped keep the shine at bay longer than my typical foundation.

Overall, I really like the consistency of the product. I think if I did not have blemish-prone skin, I'd like this product a lot more (and if it came in my shade!). I let my mum try this product. She has dry skin and she really enjoyed it, so I would recommend it to someone with normal/dry skin.

Je teste depuis quelques jours le fond de teint Dream Velvet de Maybelline New york et je dois dire que je suis agréablement surprise. Je trouve habillement les fond de teint lourd et gras, mais celui-ci à une texture veloutée et une fois appliqué sur le visage il rends le teint uniforme et lumineux tout en ayant un aspect super naturel! Deplus il est hydratant et matifiant. Et ce toute la journée! Aucune zone luisante n'a fait son apparition au courant de la journée. Le dream velvet à trouver sa place dans ma trousse de maquillage

Awesome, awesome, awesome foundation. Goes on so smoothly like a moisturizer. Leaves my skin nicely hydrated and the skin tone is perfectly even all over. I was actually so nicely surprised how well it worked, and how long it lasted, it did manage to look good most of the day - unlike a lot of other foundations out there. Definitely recommend :)

I was super excited to try this product and the blender brush, I had not used one before. I liked the coverage of this foundation and the feel and texture. I was not a fan if the blender. I think it wastes to much of the product by soaking up in the blender. I have used my clean fingers or a foundation brush in the past and will be going back to it for my applications. The foundation colour matched perfectly and has good lasting power.

Very nice foundation, I was pleasantly surprised, after reading some bad reviews. I think it depends on your skin type, if this foundation works for you. I was a bit worried that the colour won't match, but it blended out beautifully, and matched my neck perfectly. Application is a dream with the Dreamblender that comes with it. Covered all my redness and acne scars perfectly. Doesn't feel heavy on the face. Gives a beautiful velvet finish, which is perfect for my combination skin type. Overall, I love this foundation! So glad, I had the opportunity to test it out.

I received the Dream Velvet Foundation through the ChickAdvisor Product review club. The foundation is a very light and hydrating foundation on the skin. I have normal skin (a little drier in the colder seasons) so regular drugstore foundations work for me. It is a great light coverage and leaves my skin feeling soft afterwords.

I have used every single foundation out there from drugstore to high and I have combination skin and I have a hard time finding a very good foundation

this products feels velvety on the skin it's not to modify and yet's hydrating at the same time it lasted all through my workday I did not need to touch up with powder which I hate to do because I do have dry patches . I would recommend this product to anybody who is combination skin. This is now my go to foundation.

The Dream Velvet foundation is not dehydrating for my dry skin and it has a beautiful finish when I have just applied it. Its coverage is light to average. The foundation does not conceal well my redness, my imperfections and my acne. So, the Dream Velvet foundation has no good performance on my skin and it marked my patches of drought in the course of the day. However, it is impossible to apply it with a brush without making of streak and I did not like the result when I used the Dream Blender sponge. I did not really like this product. Nevertheless, I adore several other foundations of Maybelline...

I received the Dream Velvet Soft Matte Foundation through the Chick Advisor Product review club. I typically only use a BB Cream and sometimes a powder rather than foundation as I've found matching my skin tone to be somewhat problematic. I did like the tone that the Porcelain Ivory shade provided for my skin, but I found the foundation itself to be somewhat lacking. It almost immediately started flaking off around my chin which wasn't what I was expecting based on how smoothly it went on. I did use the companion product: Dream Blender which came with the review product, so perhaps that contributed to the flaking? I will probably keep trying this product because I did enjoy the coverage it provided and it did leave my skin feeling very soft.

I had the pleasure of testing Maybelline New York Dream Velvet Foundation for free as part of ChickAdvisor's Product Review Club. As I am no stranger to Maybelline beauty products, I was really looking forward to see what this beautiful foundation had in store for me! As the advertising boasted benefits such as velvet soft texture, a matte finish, and lasting hydration, I had amazingly high hopes that THIS could finally be my first reliable and durable foundation for these cold, bitterly dry and harsh Canadian winters....and I was not disappointed! Not only did I see and feel the benefits Maybelline New York Dream Velvet Foundation claimed, but I also loved the fact that my face never felt dry, sticky, or heavy while the product was on. In comparison to my current foundation by another brand...well... There isn't a comparison in this department. The velvet texture of Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation wins hands down. The coverage lasted for the duration of my day, and well into the evening, which surprised me as I am often exposed to the chilly elements on a daily basis. I did experience a 'flakey' or 'cakey' result on my dry skin( as my 'other' foundation sometimes does as well) only because I had to get used to blending it in properly with a good moisturizer. With time,the hydrating ingredients plus the Maybelline New York Dream Blender applicator allowed me to perfect application for a medium, matte coverage (but that depends on the desired amount one puts on their face). As an added bonus, the shade matched me almost perfectly and I did not experience any 'breakouts' throughout my reviewing experience, which for a pale, dry, sometimes sensitive skined gal like me is ah-mazing and SO user friendly!! Speaking of user friendly, I found the Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation bottle a little on the smaller side but very convenient and easy to use. The gorgeous lettering, cheery colours, and bold text made it also a delight to read and be informed about what ingredients are actually in this foundation...something not all foundation bottles have.

Maybelline New York Dream Velvet Foundation is a gem. It gave me absolute confidence that when I applied it, I could trust that the lasting hydration, matte finish, and velvet soft liquid would stay in place for beautiful coverage in harsh, bitter, stressful Canadian winter conditions, all day long. I will most certainly be purchasing this foundation again, as I will my other tried and true Maybelline products, and I have already recommended it to coworkers, family, and friends. I mean what can I say, when someone comments you on your makeup and beautiful, flawless coverage, how can you NOT endorse such a revolutionary and DREAMY foundation?
