I received 'Give me Gold' and 'Purple Icon'. When I first saw the product, I was very tempted to try it out. I'm a big fan of glittery eyeshadows. But, I have to say there were some dissapointments with this product. When I applied the eyeshadow on in the morning, I found that it started to wear off as the day progressed. The colour also didn't come on as strong as I wanted it to and it was hard to create a dramatic look. I found the packaging of the product to be sometimes hard to open.
But, if you're looking for an affordable eyeshadow palette that can still do a decent job, I would recommend trying out this product.

I received the Sapphire Siren and Copper Chic Palette's. I really like the copper one for everyday wear and have used it for work makeup every day. The Sapphire Siren is really bold and I will save these colours for a photo shoot or fitness competition makeup.

I like the quality of the powder. Sticks well if you use a primer. Lasts until around 4-5pm but definitely fades.

I don't like the application brush and have used my own to apply and blend. The blending is great with this product!

Like many others, i was pleasantly surprised when I tried this quad. I received it in "Irresistible Ivy", Which includes a creamy highlight colour, Gold, Turquoise and a copper colour. I always use a base and the colour payoff with these are pretty amazing. I saw that some reviewers thought it didn't last as long. But i find that when i just patted the shadow on rather than sweeping it across, it creates a nice vibrant colour and stays. I wear it to the office and it lasts me all day! I love how the colour works together, (besides the Turquoise), and the formula is rather creamy. I am able to effortlessly blend the shadows from one to the other. I especially like the highlight and the copper colour. I'm not really sure what to do with the Turquoise colour since it didn't really go as well with the rest of the palette, but on its own or paired with other colours, it looks great. The packaging is not that great, sort of flimsy, but i don't mind since I don't need to carry it around. Overall, i think you should definitely give these a try.

I recieved Give Me Gold and Purple Icon. I love purple, so I was pretty psyched about it. I don't use expensive make up like MAC and the like, I buy all my stuff at Rexall :D That said, the make itself was quite good and sturdy (subject to my testing!) and the colours applied better and more comfortably than other pharmacy brands. It doesn't last too too long, but neither do most other pharmacy brands.

Things I'd have liked: a mirror, instructions on where to put each shade (this is clearly for beginners, as all the experienced make up users have already seemingly thrown theirs out), and more colour choice.

Beyond that, it's nice, and I love Maybelline, but I'll probably stick to their other products.

I am reviewing palettes: Taupe Temptress and Irresistibly Ivy

I had high hopes for these palettes after reading them being alluded to department store brand eyeshadows in current magazines, however I was very disappointed in their overall quality.

Although they appeared very pigmented and and silky when I first tested the consistency out on my hand, I found that the eyeshadows just "sat on top" of the skin and did not have any "hold" and could be brushed off too easily. It was also disappointed that the colour payoff and texture were not consistent in both palettes-- some shades were pigmented and for some, I could not build any colour onto the eyelids. Having used an eyeshadow primer, I achieved better results, but without one, I would never recommend using these palettes. I also did not like the packaging because it felt flimsy and poorly made.

Although the TEXTURE of these eyeshadows are very comparable to the shimmery shades from Stila, the metallic shadows from Shu Uemura, and some Veluxe Pearl finishes from MAC, they are not as pigmented and cannot achieve the same smooth and blended quality.

For under $10CAD a palette, these eyeshadows are a great deal for occasional makeup wearers.

First off, let me start off by saying that I love MAC shadows because of the pigmentation and lasting power but am equally as smitted with some drug store brands.

I received the Taupe and Gold palettes through ChickAdvisor. At first touch they feel velvety smooth and the colour looks really bright and vibrant. On application, the colour is quite sheer and quite sparkly. If you're looking for a work/day look, I would be careful as the shimmer is quite apparent. You may be better off using it for a night out. Having said that, if you want a nice colour payoff, it's going to require lots of layers. I would have preferred a lot less shimmer and a lot more pigmentation. It also fades quickly, even under UDPP so if you want it to last, you may need to carry it around for touch-ups.

I was excited to try the two maybeline eyeshadows when I received them. I was disappointed. For a drugstore eyeshadow, the color payoff was ok. I expected more from it given that the color was so vibrant while looking at it. I found it a bit too light/pale and you have to apply a few coat in order to get the color thaty you want. I found that the pink/purple has chunky glitter in it; at the end of the day, the glitter will fall under your eyes. The texture is velvety, but the color fades throughout the day even if I've used a primer before. The plastic box is kinda cheap looking and the brush that comes with it is useless. I tried wearing all the color in the palette......I either look like a disco ball with all the glitter or like I'm not even wearing any eyeshadow. I had to use different color with the shimmery palette to balance the glitter because there was not a matte color that came with it.

Over all, if you don't like shimmer eyeshows, don't buy this because you will see chunky silver glitter under your eyes. The color last for a few hours only, and you need to wear a few layers in order to get a nice vibrant color. It's an ok product, not the best though.

I was pleasantly surprised by how great these shadows are. My experience with drugstore eyeshadow has been disappointing, to say the least. But these palettes are a revelation. The colours are awesome, the texture is like velvet, and they have great staying power. Now in fairness I will say that they don't last as long as more expensive shadows, but they do a great job for this price point.
    I highly recommend these shadows!

I got to test out the Maybelline purple icon and give me gold from this collection of eyeshadow. First I would have to say that for one of the lower end products out there the quality, and pigmentation was reasonable. The packaging was also presentable and nice though like most cases will be bound to crackin a bag full of make-up lol Though I would prefer that it wasn't too much sparkle/glittery but thats just my preference. When I look for most of all in eyeshadow is the color pigmentation was good for the price I would have to say Urban Decay's eyeshadow is still my personal favorite out there in the market. If you don't wanna spend too much but want good quality I would go for this eyeshadow :)

Let me just say, I AM QUITE IMPRESSED!

I have always considered companies like MAC and Smashbox to have the best quality shadows, especially in terms of colour payoff, but this is great!! If I am ever in need of a new colour I will definitely look at these first because they are much more affordable than the expensive ones but definitely comparable.

I was in a bit of a rush when I tried these the first time but I found I could control quite easily whatever look I wanted. Because the colour payoff is so good, I would suggest making sure you layer on the colour for whatever look youre doing, just to make sure you dont go overboard. I really like that each individual colour is a bit unique; they're not the run-of-the-mill shades that you can buy anywhere. There is a nice corally colour that I have never seen anywhere else that I am really excited about, and the most perfect taupe!

This eyeshadow is increadibly silky. I don't know how else to describe it! It's just so, so soft! Definitely worth the money, I say!
