Better for dark skin, can be layered.

I was surprised at how subtle this is. I have very pale skin and immediately felt this would be too dark for me, especially after swatching it. It seemed more like bronzer than a highlighter in this shade. I included two pictures, one without flash and one with flash, but even on the picture with the bright flash, you really can't see the product at all on my skin. Keeping in mind that this is one normal layer of the product in the areas recommended for highlighting (cheekbone, browbone, forehead, nose, chin centre and cupids bow.)

I think if I used it a bit heavier it would show up more, but it really doesn't come across as a highlighter for me. my problem with anything that shimmers is it just doesn't give a classic look, because it makes you look glittery rather than bright.

I was disappointed mainly with two other things when it came to this highlighter stick.

1. The size. The packaging is very misleading, but there's actually not that much product in there. If you use highlighter daily this might not last as long as you'd like.

2. Smell. Most cosmetics have either a non-smell or a pleasant smell, but this one smells pretty bad. It's not a pungent smell, but it certainly made me wrinkle my nose while applying.

Despite these flaws, this highlighter stick is not a bad product. I'm going to continue to use it as a shimmer stick and would recommend it as such. I also think it would make a very pretty highlighter on darker skin, due to the golden sheen. For light shades like mine, I'd stay away from this or use it solely as a shimmer stick.

Awesome Highlighting Stick!!

I absolutely love the Maybelline Illuminating strobing stick! It is just like a lipstick applicator so you just need to push up the Illuminator and place it on your face. It is one of the best illuminators I've ever used!

I love the way the master strobing stick looks on top of foundation! It adds a gorgeous highlight and is very buildable and blendable. When set with spray or powder it will last a good portion of the day. I didn't find it to last long on my bare face unfortunately. I found that when I wore it without any other base makeup it would slide around and separate.

I purchased this product after seeing a show discussing the youthful glow these products give. I use it on cheekbones jawline and nose. It gives me a gliw and is not greasy this is a look i am completely happy with and ir also gives me a sunkissed look without the damage of the sun

I love a good highlight so when I received this for free from Maybelline I was excited to give this a try. I really like the amount of highlight it provides. The quality is great and it is long-lasting. What I like most about this is how easy it is to apply and take around. Very impressed!

What I love about this highlighter is it's great quality for a very reasonable price, and the ease of use, thanks to its compact size that helps you take it everywhere without the worry of spills. I believe it has two shades, I use the light one (number 100), the way it captures and reflects light is amazing compared to high end products! And it blends very easily to your foundation. Would repurchase again and again!

I was not to sure about trying the Master strobing stick as I was not sure it would give me the highlight I was looking for. I ended buying it and I was pleasently surprised at how natural it looked. It was very easy to blend. It also lasted a 12 hour day. Definitely a gem to keep in your makeup kit.

The maybelline master strobing stick is a great drugstore highlighter. Its super affordable and looks amazing. Its easy to apply, as its creamy, and blends very well. The color is really pretty as well.

So I accidently left all my makeup at home when I went on vacation to Disney World (insert shriek here). I ran over to the closest target and picked up the essentials. Now I normally wear highlighter by Becca so I obviously was looking for something cheap and not very comparable, but would do the job. I am OBSESSED with this strobing stick. Especially now in Toronto that it's winter it's way easier to use a creamy strobing stick than a powder. I highly recommend this, it's absolutely beautiful and I get compliments on my highlight all the time at work. Plus it can be as subtle or as bright as you want.

Some days my face does not look its brightest or best – and manual contouring is required. This enhancing stick definitely helps without looking totally obvious.

Just like a lipstick or lip balm, the thick highlighting stick swivels upwards by twisting the container until the desired height is reached, and swab away. After swabbing the shading on, I like to blend it lightly with my fingers to obtain seamless contouring and enhancement.

I have been using it underneath my dark eyes, chin, brows, and cheek bone with the desired effects. My face looks well contoured in a natural way – the lighter shade of the stick complimenting my skin quite nicely.

My face does not look shiny after use (as it has with some recent contouring products), but has a more natural glow about it.

It does not have any weird scents, and my face has not broken out or reacted negatively as part of its use.

The texture of the stick is creamy without being caky, making application simple and clean.

None of the ingredients are natural, so I would avoid this if you prefer more natural skin products.

Overall, for the price point and effective make up artistry it provides for my face, I would definitely recommend this enhancement stick!
