When i got this in the mail i was estatic, the thing that attracted it to me the most was the packaging. (the shape of the stiletto) The pluses to this mascara is it applies easy and has no clumps at all. While it did lengthen my lashes and was entirely clump free, it didnt make them look very full, and i had to apply a couple coats to reach a dramatic effect. The quality is very good if you are looking for a more natural look, however for more dramatic effects i would try something else. The other downfall is this isnt something you would want to cry with, while its nice to have it wash off easy, its a pain if you would tear up for a second. Overall its good depending on what you want to use it for.

I recieved this product in the mail like some other members of the product review club. After testing it out a few times I would say this mascara is decent. It doesn't clump and adds a bit of length. Unfortunately as I have sparse lashes, I tend to like mascaras that make my lashes look more full. The effect of this mascara is okay but not worth writing home about. I do like it and I think it does a good job... unfortunately I'd rather spend my money on something that does a fantastic job. But maybe it's my lashes and not this mascara. I'm asian and I have typical asian eyelashes (they are sparse, straight, don't hold curls very well unless you curl before applying mascara and then curl again afterwards.), so perhaps this mascara would work better on someone with naturally curly and full lashes.
I'll continue to use this every now and again.... it's sort of on par with Maybelline Full and Soft (in terms of what it does for my lashes)

I received this as part of the Product Review Club. Like many of the reviewers, I really like the packaging which may answer the question "Why is it called Stiletto?". Its sleek, attractive and is shaped like the heel of a stiletto. The idea is pretty interesting, but I was looking at the quality and the effectiveness of the whole product. Personally, I found everything quite lacking. The lashes did not curl as much as I would like (an eye curler may have produced a better result, frankly). This may be because the bristles were not uniformed and shaped like Maybelline's previous mascara (Colossal). True, it did not "clump" and gave it a natural look, but this is because it didn't exactly curl! Although I like the innovation, I personally would not purchase this product neither would I recommend it to my friends. I love love the Colossal mascara, so I'm sticking to that :) Thanks Maybelline and ChickAdvisor for the opportunity to review the Stiletto!

I tried this mascara as part of the ChickAdvisor Review Club.

I never leave home without mascara and have tried many different brands, but never Maybelline, since I usually splurge for a higher end brand when it comes to mascara.

The packaging is really nice and I was impressed initially - it looks similar to other high end products (unlike the super bright packaging characteristic of many other drug mart brands)

In terms of it's effectiveness, it definately did lenghthen and seperate my lashes, but it made them too seperate. The brush was more "prickly" than even my normal lash seperating brush. There was no volumizing at all - so overall it made my lashes look less full and really long which I didn't like.

Also, by midday, I found that the mascara was flaky and I had some dark small spots under my eyes (and I don't rub my eyes) so I think it was "shedding".

It was pretty easy to take off, and I didn't love the smell.

Overall, even though I liked the way it the packaging looks and I liked the dark colour, I wouldn't purchase this myself:) I think it would look best on someone who is going for the look described, or something who has very thick lashes and only needed lenghtening/seperating.

p.s. I wanted to add, after reading the other reviews, that I felt it made my eyelashes look a bit "spidery"

This mascara had a very unpleasant smell that lasted all day and did not define each eyelash but stuck them in small bunches. I liked that it did not smudge and washed off with water very easily and quickly. Overall, I would not recommend this mascara because it did not make a huge difference and the smell was very distracting.

I received this as part of the Product Review club and agree with what everyone else said here.

It defined my lashes very well with no clumping. I was surprised that there literally was no clumping whatsoever. It didn't length or add volume to my lashes which is what I would like from my mascara. Both results are probably due to the brush. The brush is smaller than some mascara and the bristles are pretty close together.

If you're looking for a more natural mascara to define your lashes then I would recommend this. If you want a mascara to add volume and length to your lashes then I'd suggest you buy a different one.

I really like the design of the package. It's pretty sleek with the shape (looks like a heel), so that makes this product unique to other mascaras.

I like how the brush is clump-free. I didn't get any clumps on my lashes when applying the mascara, and it wasn't messy compared to some other mascaras that I have tried. The extra Vitamin E that is infused in this mascara makes my eyelashes feel quite soft, which I kinda like... I believe that this product is more on the casual side than dramatic because it didn't really give me any volume. I would have to put 4 or more coats on just to see a big difference. So if you're looking for a subtle, more natural look- this is the product for you. But when you want people to notice your lashes, mmmm I think you need to find another mascara to use.

Wow. Well this is a difficult product to review for. I like how it has a natural not-wearing-mascara look. But most of the time I want my eyelashes to be like BAM! KNOCK YOU ON YOUR FEET LENGTH! This mascara doesn't do any clumping which is definately not for me, I need a little clumping so people can tell I'm wearing mascara and my eye lashes don't get lost in my eye shadow. But this mascara is definately for you if you want a natural looking mascara that doesn't clump. It also is pretty reasonably priced, I bought mine for about $8.

So I was chosen to review this for the Product Review Club and boy was I excited! However I wasn't totally excited about the product.
    What I didn't like:
-The smell: it has that same gone bad/chemically smell that the Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express had
-It didn't give ANY volume: which is something I really look for in a mascara. My mother even commented that it looked like I wasn't wearing any mascara

    What I did like:
-It didn't leave any clumps or globs: didn't have to comb my lashes afterwards
    -It gave good length
    -Looked natural
-Didn't leave my lashes looking "spidery"
-Leave lashes feeling soft: I believe they called this a satin finish
-The packaging: the tube looks like a stiletto heel

I say that I do tend to like a more dramatic effect for my lashes, and this was more of a natural look. And that my lashes are pretty long to begin with and so I have never looked for a product to lengthen my lashes.

Overall I would say that it did exactly what it said it was going to do, lengthen, but that isn't what I prefer in my mascara.
