I purcheased the more expensive brand from Dillards a few months ago. Figured Id buy this cheaper stuff to see the difference. I have to say....didnt see much of a difference well except the big price difference that is! I really like this stuff and it doesnt clump.

Yes, like everyone says in reviews, this mascara clumps like nobody's business. But do you know why I gave a 5 star rating? Because anyone who has short bottom lashes will know what a pain it is to try and apply mascara on bottom lashes to give our eyelashes a nice even look, and have the mascara smudge and spread. It is awful.
But with this mascara, all you need to do is place the wand on the bottom lashes, and press the vibrate button, take it off, and voila! You have wonderful mascara-coated bottom lashes. The wand is skinny enough to not get product on my eyes, and the clumpiness of the product is a good way to get defined bottom lashes.
    This has become my HG.

Maybelline usually has some pretty good mascaras and this one is not bad, but not worth all that extra money. The vibrating is a gimmick. It doesn't separate lashes any better than regular brushes. I felt ripped off because I could have paid less for their less expensive, non-vibrating mascaras for the same results. The vibrating doesn't tickle me, but having to press the button to get it to work the whole time I'm applying mascara is a bit annoying (and you have to press pretty hard too...sometimes it doesn't work, and I don't know if there's maybe a special way of holding down the button).

I also find that it takes a bit longer to apply the mascara because you have to hold the brush so carefully while it vibrates, making sure you move slowly among the lashes.

This is probably the most ridiculous invention in mascara's history. You know how using a vibrating toothbrush tickles your nose? Well, for only $17.99 that feeling can be yours! On your EYEBALL!

The vibrations do absolutely nothing. Your eyelashes still come out as clumpy as ever, possibly worse. Even if the vibrations were beneficial in any way, the power is all in the handle and doesn't really reach the brush at all. This is probably because it would be a health and safety hazard if it did.

I was going to complain about how the on/off button needs to be held down the entire time it's in use, but you know what? The whole thing is crap, so it wouldn't make a difference.

If you've used Lancome's pricey version, Oscillation, then you'll probably love Maybelline's cheaper version. It's exactly the same except for the logo. Now, I really fell in love with Lancome's because of the faux lash effect it gave me. It had really good lift and volume plus did not smudge or smear. Maybelline's I found gave the same effect but the original and the waterproof version both smeared on me. Now, I know if you have oily skin waterproof mascara will still smear. But the few times I wore it, it wasn't hot but rainy and it still smeared underneath my eyes! I didn't even know until one of my co-workers asked me what the black stuff was under my eyes. very embarrassing! d

Love the effect it gave, the cheaper price, but I still prefer the Lancome formula better for the non-smudge factor. Those of you that don't smudge/smear won't have a problem with that though. :)

I have really long lashes, but made them look thicker... and was good for seperating the lashes. I would still recommend zigzaging with it though!! Maybelline is known for its mascara so maybe its not the mascara thats good but the company!!

I am obsessed with mascara, so I had to try this one out as soon as I saw commercials for it (especially because it vibrated)! Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed. I knew I could not expect it to work as well as the commercials said but it really did not do anything for me. I tried it out on my natural lashes (without mascara) and it barely worked. It made my lashes clump a little and made them look thinner than when I am not wearing mascara.

However, this mascara does work well if you use it on top or with other mascaras. It can make your lashes a lot fuller and longer if you pair it with another mascara.

I tried this mascara a few times and the vibrating sensation went directly into the inside of my brain - it tickled so much, I couldn't handle it! I think it's still a quality mascara, it really plumps up your lashes and lengthens well, I just don't think it's worth the price.

After receiving the Pulse Perfection from Maybelline for the Product Review Club, I was excited at the possibility of finding something similar to the Lancome Oscilliation but with better pricing. The Oscilliation is great, but I don't believe it is worth the extra money to get the vibration going.

    I did two tests -
    1) Oscilliation on one eyelash vs. Pulse on the other
The problem I find with the Pulse Perfection is that it doesn't volumize nor shape the eyelash enough. My eyelashes were much fuller and longer with the Oscilliation, whereas the Pulse provided a clean and nice separation but didn't add any shape nor length to the lashes. I wouldn't be reaching for the pulse if I am going out at night, as I tend to want a more dramatic & defined lashes.

    2) Pulse with vibration on one eyelash vs. Pulse without vibration on the other.
There was absolutely no difference. I actually managed to get more volume out of the wand when I turned off the vibration. The brush itself is a nice shape that provides a great separation for my lashes. I've actually been using the product now in the morning to get a clean work look. (with the vibration turned off!!)

Here's the deal... if you're already great at applying your mascara, then pass on this mascara. I found it didn't make a difference when I would apply one eye with the vibrations and one without. However, if you have a hard time getting a good application but you do have a steady hand, this mascara could probably help you out. Otherwise the vibrations don't make a real difference. Also, I found this mascara had a real problem with working if I curled my lashes before applying it.

This mascara is pretty decent, but after trying it out, I found myself reaching for my go-to mascara, define-a-lash, again
