As a long time of fan of Dior Show mascara I havent used drug store mascara in a long time. I decided to try the Maybelline Falsies at random one day and was amazed by how great it looked. It honeslty gives you the fake eyelash look and makes eyelashes noticeably fuller/longer. Numerous people have commented on it when I wear it and I have recommended it to all my friends.
I, like the rest of the women in my family have next to no lashes! Most of the time I wore fake lashes. Then I tried Maybelline Falsies Mascara! That was one of the best investments I have ever made! It really does work an it's worth every penny!
Honestly, I know I'm going against all the good reviews for this, but I hated this mascara! I had high hopes since I really liked the original Volum' Express and used to use it in highschool all the time, but this was a dissapointment. It didn't give drastic volume and it was dry and flaked pretty bad. Maybe I just got a bad tube...but I wasn't going to try another to find out. There are a lot better mascaras for volume and length out there. This does not and never will give the effect of fake eye lashes, and I hate how the models in the ad's are clearly wearing fake eyelashes- false advertising. To get the look of fake eyelashes you're gonna need an eyelash growth serum, an eyelash curler, and a good, dark, thickening mascara, no matter what. I'm not really sure why maybelline has to keep coming out with products that are supposed to do the exact same thing that the original does...
I started out loving it and it gave great drama to my lashes and made them very black, after a couple weeks it seemed to irritate my eyes a bit, but I do have sensitive eyes. It did add drama to my lashes for sure!
I find I struggle all the time to find a good quality reasonably priced mascara. It seems you have to spend $30 to get something that goes on cleanly, offers depth and interest and doesn't flake and smudge.
I’ve been seeing commercials for this and it piqued my curiosity. It promises a “false lash effect”. Oh really?
Huh, it kind of does. It’s a bit flaky, but otherwise my lashes were discernibly longer.
It might be the 'scoop' brush; I’ve never seen one quite like it. In my fascination, I took several photos of it:
It's good, but flakes more than its drugstore competition. CoverGirl won this one.

A friend of mines recommended that I try this mascara, she said "it makes your lashes look like your wearing false lashes, in fact the name is Falsies." Me, being the skeptic, and makeup junkie, I went to Wal-Mart and purchased for $5.00. Ah,brownie point for the price. The color that I chose was very black in the waterproof formula (another brownie point).
I like that it has the fibers in it, because I had another Maybelline mascara, I want to say it was the XXL and it lengthen my lashes as well. I like the "spoon" concept of the brush. I feel that it really does get all the individual lashes and coats them pretty well. The mascara does a pretty good job in "lengthening" my lashes and making them look fuller. A few days later I saw my friend and she said did you get your lashes done, and I said no. She said "you got the mascara didn't you!!"
Thanks, Maybelline for another awesome mascara. Definitely will be in my rotation :)
For a ~$6 drugstore mascara, this isn't really that bad. I've always been apprehensive about Maybelline mascaras since there's always been a disparaging gap between the claims made in their ads and the actual results I get when I use their products. The ads for Falsies is ridiculous because of the amount of photoshopped lashes that appear on the model, so don't get your hopes up for as dramatic a result as THAT! However, as a drugstore mascara I find it curls, thickens, darkens and lengthens my pinstraight lashes a decent amount, and keeps my lashes curled for 24 hours.
HOWEVER, I do find that sometimes my eyes water when the mascara wand is close to my eyes, as if there are fumes being emitted from the mascara formula. I don't find that the wand shape does anything to change the way my lashes look. Sometimes the formula clumps when I'm layering on a second or third coat. During days I encounter extreme environmental temperature changes, the mascara may smudge on my bottom lid, but otherwise I can sleep on the bus with this stuff on and it doesn't smear. At the end of the day, you will definitely require a solvent based makeup remover to get rid of this stuff, it can be quite stubborn.
My final word on this is that it's a pretty decent mascara for the price, and I personally think it's the best that Maybelline has to offer. However those with sensitive eyes may want to avoid this. Finally, don't expect the same results as that portrayed in their ads, it won't happen.
