Well, first of all I would like to thank for selecting me for this mascara. I received it last week and liked the packaging of the mascara.
Now the verdict. This mascara as it is advertised that will give you a look you are wearing false eyelashes is proved wrong. To get that look you have to have that great lashes or to wear actual falsies. I do not have very beautiful lashes so thought this mascara will be of help. But this mascara is like most other mascaras available. It does lengthens and give a bit of volume but not that oomph factor.
I am not sure about its price, so I just gave it a average rating on price scale. Quality and effectiveness is just average like other mascaras. It does not clump with one coat but as you add on it starts to clump. I like one thing about this mascara is that it is very easy to remove, you do not need harsh make up remover, just water and finger pressure will work as mentioned in directions on the packaging.
In short if you are looking for some dramatic results try other mascaras. This one is just an average and regular wear mascara. I do not say it is a waste but it just not lived to its promise of falsies.
This is an abridged version of the review that I posted on my blog. This mascara will not make your lashes look like you are wearing falsies, only falsies will do that, but the marketing for this mascara is great, every woman will fall for it and expect miracles from this mascara. However, this mascara does lenghten pretty well and I am a fan of the curved-ish brush, it makes application easier. I am a fan of maybelline mascara in general and this mascara is not bad, but don't expect miracles from this.
As many of the other reviewers have already stated, you're not going to achieve the look of false lashes with this mascara (despite its name and claim). However, the Falsies Volum' Express mascara does have some pros. This mascara is great if you're looking for one that will lengthen your lashes. My lashes looked noticeably longer - each lash was defined and looked thicker. With that said, however, this mascara falls low on the volume scale. Thought it will thicken individual lashes, the overall volume of your lashes is not that great (especially in comparison to the CoverGirl Lash Blast mascara). Unfortunately, if you wait to let your lashes dry to apply additional coats, the mascara tends to leave clumps - but if you apply multiple coats without letting the first coat dry, the clumping is not as bad. Overall, I rate this mascara average. If you're looking for length, then this is the mascara for you...but if you're looking for volume...then I would recommend trying the Lash Blast by CoverGirl.
This product by itself was not terrible. It is easy to use and it has cute packaging (I love the color!). How this mascara compares to other mascaras though? Not very well. I don't usually buy expensive mascaras, I tend to go for drugstore brands, but this mascara wasn't one of the greatest that I have tried. It tended to clump on the first coat.
I don't even think it would compare to wearing false eyelashes at ALL. It's just an average mascara. Maybe a tiny bit below average. There was nothing about it that lived up to it's name "the falsies". It was mediocre at best.
How would this compare to my usual volumizing mascara? Well, the one I usually buy at work for cheap volumizes way better. This did not give any noticeable length, curl or volume, just clump. The formula was wetter than most I've tried, which was more problematic and probably one of the reasons why it clumped.
I don't think I would really recommend this mascara to a friend... not that it's the WORST mascara I've tried, but it definitely isn't even close to one of the best I've used.
The only thing I really liked about this mascara was the curved brush...but you can get that with lots of other mascaras that actually do what they advertise. Now on to the negatives. I found the formula to "wet" so all it did for me was make a mess. It didn't give me much volume and it just seemed to stick my lashes together at the ends by the second coat. It didn't seperate them out at all, they just look ridiculous! It gave them a bit of length but nothing to brag about since they were slightly elongated, clumpy, messy tufts of lashes. Not attractive at all. Hopefully other people have better experiences with this than I did!!
Crap! This mascara falls very short of their big claim of falsies!
I also love the girls lashes in the image they use to promote the product.... cause my eyelashes looked nothing like it!!
Would not recommend or buy again, than god I got it on sale cause its a waste of money.
This mascara was ok, doesn't wear out easy, but there was not too much volume. There also wasn't any clumping either tho! It's ok for every day office use though, but not for going out party wear. It however does not compare to wearing false eyelashes. My usual loreal mascara works better for a more dramatic look. I would recommend this only for day wear but there are tons of those out there.
Well, yet again, here's another hyped-up mascara product that doesn't deliver on it's promise. I had eagerly went and purchased this mascara (before finding out I was selected for the Product Review Panel) and actually wish I had waited to buy it so I wouldn't have wasted my money! You have to put an insane number of coats on to get any fullness at all (which isn't much by any standard) and it doesn't even come close to giving you the 'false lash look' that they tout. The only positive I have about 'The Falsies' is that is does stay on nice and doesn't easily smudge.
If you're looking for volume, this is definitely a mascara to pass by and spend your money on something else that actually works.
I am always on the lookout for new mascaras, especially ones that provide volume. Maybelline's new Falsies Volum' Express promised to deliver up to eight times the volume, with its pro-keratin fibre forumla made to fill in the gaps between lashes. Unfortunately, this mascara failed to live up to the hype. All it did was cover my eyelashes to make them darker... and that was it. It did not lengthen them, and there was not even a hint of volume. I suspect that the formula is dilated to avoid clumping of the eyelashes, but that means it will detract from the volume, which is what the product is all about (the thicker the product, the more volume for eyelashes). There was no "false lash" effect, and nothing that a regular mascara could not offer.
There is no such thing as a mascara that will give you the exact look of fake eyelashes. If you want falsies, buy falsies and prepare yourself for the application. But overall, this mascara definitely comes close. I usually have good luck with mascaras. I've got long lashes in the first place.
I noticed on the package that it said to layer without allowing to dry in between coats, so thats what I did. I hardly had any clumps, which is a win right there. The length is amazing. About the third day I wore it, I actually noticed how long my lashes were. I also noticed that this mascara does not flake at all (yay!).
I love that the brush is curved. I've had mascaras with curved brushes before of course, but it really is helpful.
The price for this product is great. It was only about $9 at London Drugs. I don't usually buy the same mascara twice, but now I just might.
