Instead of making my own home fries for breakfast I opted to try whipping up a batch of these McCain Hash browns instead. These potatoes are cut into cute, tiny cubes but I find that they taste a little odd. I prepared these potatoes in a buttered skillet over medium heat for around 10 minutes. I didn't like the taste of them simply plain so I added some ketchup, sea salt, and vinegar which gave them more of a chip wagon french fry flavour. My favourite way to eat this product is with sea salt, cayenne pepper, and drizzled with medium buffalo hot sauce, which gives the potato an extra bite and makes me forget about the unpleasant taste I find these hash browns have when eaten plain. All in all this is a great product for me to use for breakfast when I'm feeling lazy or I'm in a bit of a morning rush.
These are really good with your favourite seasonings and sauteed with some peppers and onions in a frying pan! Quick breakfast that can be made your own!
I remember eating these when I was a kid. I remember them being satisfactory in overall taste, texture and flavour. Perhaps it was due to the way I made them, but I found them to being a bit mushier than I would usually prefer. I would recommend them only because the hasbrowns are a great substitute to have when you don't want to pay x amount of dollars at the restaurant for the same thing. If you want them extra crunchy, then I would suggest frying them a bit on the pan.
These are great for a quick cook. I like adding Pomegranate and lemon with indian spices to them to make my own hash. Would like it if they were a bit bigger.
I was very sceptical of these as I am all proccessed foods but was pleasantly surprised when I used them in an egg bake and then with breakfast over the long weekend. They are crisp, not to oil and while still not homemade are quite good. They were high in sat and fat but anything like this it is good to be cautious. When I did them in the bake they did not turn to mush and where great on there own, baked in the oven on a no stick baking sheet. I do not think there is any need to add cooking oil before baking. Nice product
I love using these hash browns in my breakfast casseroles or any casserole that calls for potatoes really. Since these are cut so small, I find if you keep them too long in your freezer they can taste freezer burnt but they're a great time saver when cooking!
McCain hashbrowns help make a complete breakfast more time efficient. I like to make my own hashbrowns from scratch, but that just isn't practical on a regular basis. These hashbrowns make a great substitute for the homemade variety. They have the perfect level of crunchy! I definitely recommend these to potato lovers.
Mccain Hashbrowns super good. They're good for breakfast fried in a pan, good in casserole, good deep fried.. very versatile and not overly greasy. good product
I grew up on #McCain hash browns and to this day buy the McCain brand to prepare and consume with my family. These are the tiny size of cubed potato and I like to use them in recipes that call for diced potatoes as well as for layering in egg breakfast wraps. The do need added seasoning and or spices if you desire. Easy to prepare. Average in price. Will buy again.
I like to make this for weekend breakfast. Just put a little bit of seasoning in it and it will cook nicely and tasty. its so easy compare if you make it from scratch
