Something Different

Baking these fries did not take very long as promised. When it came to eating them, of course, they did not taste quite like the original McCain Shoestring fries and there is a noticeable difference. I must also add that this product is a healthier choice but just don't deep fry them. I'm 50/50 on this one.

Quick and easy side dish. Good accompaniment to burger or grilled cheese. Because they are so thin the cook quickly and crisp up. We live to shake on some oregano, seasoning salt and garlic powder.

While the 5 minute cook time is appealing the end result certainly was not! We had the McCain 5 min. Shoestring fries last night and they were terribly dry! They were cooked according to package directions and did look delicious, evenly cooked and crispy but what a surprise when I took a bite! Super dry to the point I wasn't able to eat them without dipping in ketchup. Hubby and daughter agreed --- not a repeat purchase in our future! Disappointed.

we are big french fry people we usually make our own fresh french fries but decided to make these instead and it saved alot of time but they dont come close to home made french fries

I went out two days ago and bought these to try because I have already tried some of the other kinds.These fries were ok,in my opinion they are not as good as the crinkle fries and they didn't seem to get as crispy either,I even left them in the oven a little longer and the ends of the fries started to burn,the flavor was ok,the price is decent so that's a good thing.But overall McCains products are really good but I think I will stick wih the crinkle cut fries.But for anyone who prefers shoestring fries you might actually like these

I bought these fries last weekend as a quick side dish for my family because we were busy that day and didn't have time to cook a big meal. I tried them once, a few years back, but I didn't remember what they tasted like. They weren't a big hit. My family didn't care for the taste at all. Sometimes faster isn't always better. My husband thought they tasted like leftover fries and I thought they tasted like French fries that come in some microwave meals. Microwave fries are far from great and that's what they taste like. Sure they're fast, but that's about all they have going for them.

I've had these because kids love them; I myself usually don't care for them. I prefer thicker ones.I will continue buying them though because they do taste good.
