Not sure why the hype

I believe in the more simple the better -- all these fancy nipples that are meant to mimic the natural breast..my daughter does not seem to like them.

This Calma is such an awkward shape and it seemed to flow too fast in which my few week old baby did not enjoy.

Would not purchase this...came with my Medela pump set.

Wouldn't recommend

I don't know what it is about this nipple but neither of my two daughters would drink from it. Such an awkward shape didn't feel very natural. It was included in my breast pump kit but I ended up having to buy different ones.

Definitely Recommended

These nipples work great for my little one. They seem natural enough for her to be very comfortable and be able to switch back and forth from the breast to bottle. She can eat at her own pace. Seems like very good quality. My only issue is that without the lid for the nipple already attached, it's kind of a pain getting the nipple attached to the bottle. The lid keeps all the pieces together, but if one is not available at the moment, it's a struggle for me to keep all the nipple pieces together while trying to twist it onto the bottle's threading. Oh right, there was another thing. Sometimes the nipple starts just flowing and pouring into her mouth and I have to take it out, squeeze it and drain the excess fluid before it'll start working properly again.
But all in all, those are very minor issues. Medela is a good brand with good bottles!

Great Alternative to the breast

I couldn't say enough about this Medela Nipple to all of my mommy friends. It requires work to get the formula/breast milk out much like a natural breast. It took me a minute to figure out how to assemble /disassemble it but I got it lol it was a little pricy and hard to find. I had to order it online from Target but it works so great!
