It's worth it! When my son was fighting for his life, he couldn't take a bottle or breastfeed. This device helped me to feel like I was contributing something towards my son. It was the best breast pump I have tried. The other didn't work as well. But with Medela I could get adequate amounts of milk within certain intervals to feed my son. Due to this breast pump I can proudly say, I was able to provide some of my own milk to feed him. I would highly recommend this.
The best there is... I rented one (and insurance even covered it since I had a preemie). Easy to use, not painful. Would be expensive to purchase and heavy to cart around if you needed portability.
This is the best breast pump there is. Its hospital grade, easy to use and you get the most milk in the shortest amount of time with this pump. Its very expensive but if you are going to exclusively pump this is really the way to go. You can also rent this breast pump from places like Shoppers Drug Mart and other places in town. Ask at the hospital or the La Leche people in your city and they can direct you. I would not recommend buying it simply for the cost but if you can afford it its amazing!
The Medela symphony breast pump is awesome! I to had a difficult time breast feeding my first son and I was using the avent breast pump at first, but the one I had only had one breast pump which means it took me twice the time to pump milk for him. So my girlfriend recommended the Symphony and without hesitation I went out to buy it. Yes it is pricey, buy worth every penny! It only took me 10 mins to fill both pumps up instead of the 30 mins if not longer. If your a mom you know you don't have time to wait around because you are exhausted and need to rest as soon as your little one goes down for his/her nap. You will cut your time in half pumping and be able to take the rest that is needed. If you are tired or stressed you will not be able to produce as much milk as a well rested mommy :) hope this helped all the first time mummy's out there.
Medela symphony breast pump was my answer to feeding my first born breast milk, she would not latch on and I was determined to feed her breast milk. After trying many pumps and my milk supply depleting I seen a pediatrician who gave me some pills to help my milk supply come in and my husband ordered this pump online it is pricy but to me it was worth it. My milke supply was up and it took less time to pump.
This pump comes in a variety of pump strengths and I suggest you start low and work up as with my second child I started too strong and was sore. This is a hospital grade pump and is normally used in the hospital or for rental use, I chose not to rent as even though you buy a new kit and it's completely sanitized you can catch aids through breast milk and I wanted a brand new one as I didint even want a small chance.
I definately recommend this pump if you are having lactation issues and breast feeding is important to you.
