Some friends of ours were playing this last night and we were entranced by it. Her voice has a very smooth, soulful quality to it. My husband commented that she reminded him a bit of Duffy - minus the vibrato. The songs are a nice blend of jazzy, bluesy with a more acoustic feel.

This is the kind of music you listen to after a long day with a glass of wine, over a romantic dinner or curled up on the couch with a good book.

Gardot's story is quite interesting too. The 23 year old started her career after being in an accident at age 19 where she suffered permanent disabilities. It was through musical therapy as part of her recovery that she discovered her hidden talents. My One and Only Thrill is her 2nd release.
