New fan of Finly

My daughter and her cousin were so excited to dive into this toy. It took a bit to get through all of the packaging but once Finly was out the girls were thrilled. They were most excited about the surprise inside the shell, there were high pitched screams of excitement when it finally popped open for them. I foresee my daughter asking for the other Mermaid High characters from now until Christmas.

Opened the doll with my daughter's who are 6 and 9. They thought she was very pretty and love that she is a mermaid but can also be human. They both loved her long hair. The part they thought was so cool was the little shell laptop accessory that came with Finly. You put it into room temp water and it pops open with a little blind bag for the doll. If your kids are anything like mine, then they love surprises and blind bags. This was a great little added bonus accessory for the doll. Finly also came with a brush, a purse, sunglasses, a student ID card and a pair of shorts and shoes for her human look. In my opinion and both my daughter's the Mermaid High dolls are GREAT!!! My girls are both asking for another one for Christmas and they both went to bed snuggling her. They love her thank-you #FamilyRatedClub

Fun doll!

We received Mermaid High doll Finly to review. We had quite a lot of issue trying to get the package opened - the back paper piece seemed to be glued on and was very difficult to pry apart from the plastic. If all packaging is like this, it will definitely require an adult to do. Once we got the doll out we were quite pleased. Finly has beautiful long, soft hair. Not knowing about this doll series in advance, we were a bit disappointed that the mermaid tail is only clothing and not a plastic tail, and that it is not a bath toy. My daughter got over these quickly, and was happy to play with her.
Several accessories are included - shorts, comb, sunglasses, purse, shoes and a surprise accessory in a sealed package. We were most excited about the clamshell though - what surprise would we find inside??!! Instructions say to put the clamshell into water and it will pop open. Not sure how long we were supposed to leave it in the water, but it did not magically open itself. Instead, we opened it manually.
The doll itself is well made. Her knees are articulated, so she can sit. This was a fun feature, however, I wished her waist would have moved a bit as she would fall backwards if it was not positioned just right. My daughter enjoyed playing with this doll. I think she will provide a lot of entertainment.
