hard fry overpriced . bought so called fresh crusty italian bread would not pay the high price again. bought for a party no one was happy. why does metro have to be so expensive

It is best at its freshest, on the same day as it is baked, because it dries out quickly. Metro offers its baked goods for sale the day after, at a discount, which is a noticeable savings, but the bread does suffer from lack of freshness. Unless your budget is extremely tight, I'd say the Metro brand Italian bread is worth the extra money.
