I don't have a huge issue with these gates unless you need to take it down a million times and don't have a big dog. I works for what it is needed for, keeps my kids out of the kitchen. My American bulldog however, obviously could push it over. My husband was never able to figure out how to use it properly so it broke. It's one of those things that you get what you pay for, which isn't a bad thing.
I bought one of these with my 1st grandson. I expected it to be a little more sturdy to keep my furbaby away from my grandson til they got use to each other. Don't get me wrong, it worked, but just not as sturdy.
Excellent for families with big dogs and new born. I didn't have to use it for long, but when i used it it was excellent.
I had a few of these gates when my boy's were babies and I got another one when we got our puppy. It was the best way I knew to keep him off of the carpet before he was fully trained.
I loved the price of this gate, how easily it can be moved once the baby has gone down for it naps, or for the night. I didn't need any tools to put it together. I just had to take it out of the box and put it in place. When my boys started walking they'd try to shake the gate down, but no matter how hard they tried neither of them ever were able to shake it out of place, so it was very safe for all of us. Our home is all one level, so I don't know how well it works on stairs. I always used mine to keep the boy's out of the kitchen, witch lead to the bathroom and laundry room, three rooms you don't want your baby in with out you!!
Our boy's are teens now and in all the years I had to use these gates we never had one accident do to the gate failing and the only time I had to replace one wasn't do to my boy's, it was because our puppy chewed through mesh on one. So I feel these gates are a great value for your money.
